I'm coming off a whirlwind week of shoots with new people in our new place, and I'm looking at an edit list that I'm excited to tackle. I haven't felt this sort of creative freedom in a little while. I've talked about it a bunch, but moving to Seattle was incredible for a number of reasons: I started wet plates, our access to nature on the west coast is incredible, and the light in the PNW is just breathtaking, but I did lose something when I left Philly and finished Temperance.
I tried in a couple different ways to feel creative in our place in Seattle, but there were just so many things I couldn't do indoors on rainy days. Our space was incredibly limited, and with that so was my creativity.
Now that we are in Portland I'm feeling re-invigorated. I'm exploring where I want my to work to go with the space available to us, and honestly I'm excited for the first time in a while about some new directions I am going.
I'm not 100% on anything yet, but I think its ok for us as artists to create, and see where the work goes on its own.
This shoot with Juno is the first step in what I imagine will be a year long process of exploring ways I can go. I'm just so excited to be on a journey again. Shaky legs, and new.
