Added 2017-01-04 23:03:57 +0000 UTCThe cold rain fell around us in the forest. We'd driven in the night deep into Gifford Pinchot and slept in the van at the trail head, woke up early to shoot and tried to find the dryest spot under the canopy we could.
Overcoming the obstacles nature throws at you when shooting is one of the biggest challenges anywhere. You can set a date, get to the right spot, but none of that matters if the temperature plumets and the skies let loose.
Still, even with all that cold and rain, Alice and I decided to hike into the trees and shoot anyway. The colors of the wet forest were so intensely green, and beautiful. The moss and lichens clinging to the trees around us in the soft rainy light made shooting effortless. After a few minutes of intense cold though we retreated quickly back to the car and made our way out of the forest.
