Summer dragged on and on I couldn't wait. I got ansty early September and Rachel, Skyhook and I went searching for the first signs of fall. A few tree's had already started to turn, a few leaves had fallen. The Wissahickon, mostly green, was dotted with shades of yellow, orange, and brown, but you could tell it was coming to an end. Summer wouldn't last much longer.
For these I wanted to show the change of the season. I wanted to capture the beautiful deep green reflecting in the waters surface, but I wanted the glimpses of fall. We waited until just after sunset to start shooting. Using the sweet light of dusk to capture images before the temperature dropped, and before it was too dark to shoot.
One thing I love about Philadelphia particularly the green space is you can make the forest look like nature, or you can include the old old architecture from the early days of the city to tell a different story. I had a great time exploring these options with Rachel and Skyhook.
These were all shot with the Sigma 85mm F1.4. (surprise surprise)
