Three years ago Audrey was the first person I shot with in our new house. I can't believe how much time gets away from me. Living on the road half time, and losing who knows how many hours/days in front of the computer working on Photoshop. I closed my eyes the last time she was in front of the camera and three years went by.
I've figured out a lot since our last shoot. Refined my shooting/editing style much much more. I fell in love with cross processing 8 years ago, and I finally broke myself of the sort of immature habit of using it for all of my photos while working on 50 models 50 states. Extreme contrast and extreme color incorrection gave way for reality, and I found myself in my photos more and more.
I had a great time shooting this set in the woods of Philadelphia. We have one of the most beautiful green spaces of any city, and we had a perfectly cloudy day to make images. I found myself perched precariously on the edge of quite a long fall down for any of these, but putting the camera in front of my face has helped me overcome a lot of my fears...especially the fear of falling to my death.
I used my 85mm F1.4 for all of these images, and I brought Kyle Boughter the makeup artist back into the fold for this shoot. Working with more local and talented collaborators has been really fun lately. I'm looking forward to building this team up even more in the future.
