Rachel Dashe for Temperance and for Fun
Added 2015-04-01 00:29:38 +0000 UTCRachel came to visit me in Philly, and had promised I would get to shoot this gorgeous but incorrectly sized bra before she sold it. Shooting and posing around clothing that doesn't fit that great sort of comes with the territory...you sort of learn how to make it work as you the more you shoot.After we had shot a little for Temperance we decided it would be fun to play around shooting in front of the fireplace. It is incredibly unlikely that this will become a series, but its sort of a fun way to do portraits for now. I have another studio set up room where I used to do portraits that has just a grey wall, and a white wall, but its been taken over completely by frames, and I just find it boring.After having moved out of my apartment, I just don't enjoy seamless or anything that is remotely like it, so the white walls are out and the fireplace is in for now.Every one of these was shot using my Sigma 85mm...a trend I expect to continue for a while. The Temperance photos were all shot using my Alien Bee 800 with the 60 Inch soft box pointed into the ceiling, and the fireplace shots are done using my pro-photo modeling light with the pro photo beauty dish as the only diffusion. This way I can capture the fireplace light, trying to use the strobe was just too much and makes the fire non-existent.
