Undead Female warmup

I normally paint in Paint Tool Sai.. so I'm a bit rusty with Photoshop. I decided to do a lil' warmup today in PS though to play with a couple brushes. maybe 15-20 minutes total? Its pretty stylized, but I had fun with it. :) Going back, I'd probably focus on the hair a bit more, adjust some things with liquify, and put in more actual texture on the skin.

Honestly, for all the smack Paint Tool Sai gets, its simple interface and ease of use keeps me coming back. Photoshop is pretty much industry standard though, and I sometimes feel a bit behind on things. I'm going to try and make more of an effort to work and get comfortable again in it.

For those interested, the brushes I used are all from Loish! I've had the set downloaded for years now, but never got a great chance to play with them. :)

Also! Just to note, I've started going back and making some Patreon posts public, and using the early access feature here on Patreon. I'm only doing this for things that I've also shared on social media, but going forward I'm going to make an effort to keep most of my WIP and sketches here.

I might post the occasional sketch publicly just to remain active with art posts, but I'm going to try and focus on warmups and finished stuff only. :) This way you guys get some actual exclusive stuff, which I've been a bit bad at lately.

Yeah, I've always thought of it as its not the tool/program.. its how you use it! Unfortunately Sai is getting pretty dated. :( I often have to switch to Photoshop because my canvas sizes are too large for the program to handle. There's also no CMYK support or various tools for adjusting things. Switching over is just a slow process, since at the moment I have a ton of work to do and I don't want to spend extra time relearning how to paint it all in PS. :< Ah well. Also thank you!

I don't think there's a problem with using SAI, I mean, I get that a lot that PS is for the professionals and SAI is for the hobby artists but I think a real artist can decide which is the most suitable software/tool from all. It's a great thing that you can use both! :) & The Loish brushes are amazing, I use them very often! I really like her hair and the gentle lights on her shoulder, she looks adorable, mischievious and cruel at the same time. Love! ♥
