Shaping the Future of The Adventurer: Your Ideas Matter!
Added 2024-10-10 11:35:12 +0000 UTCHi everyone,
I have a clear plan for the Bannerman tier for next year, but for The Adventurer it’s still a bit uncertain. That’s why I need your help to shape it. I’d love to hear your opinions and suggestions, and also take the chance to research the topics we will explore together.
What’s on the horizon?
In the coming months, we’ll continue working with the Vikings, and as I mentioned, I’ve already sculpted a small collection of swordsmen with a swashbuckling theme.
Beyond that, several doors are opening for us to explore together:
Expanding the Viking line: We could give them a historical enemy, like the Romano-Britons. How do you feel about this? Any other suggestions?
Gladiator collection: Another option could be a small collection of gladiators, perhaps inspired by the game Jugula. Would you be interested in this?
Samurai line: We could focus on a samurai collection. This could either lean towards a skirmish game like Ronin, or something bigger like Clash of Katanas, focused on large battles.
Classical Antiquity: This has also had great reception. We could explore themes like Alexander the Great’s campaigns or the Punic Wars.
The key question:
Do you prefer that we develop multiple ranges at the same time, like we’ve done with The Adventurer, or would you rather we focus on finishing collections before moving on to new ones?
Your comments and suggestions are crucial at this moment to help define the direction of The Adventurer. I look forward to hearing your ideas!

I joined for the Viking theme, and would love to see more of that. Suffices to say that I hae a decent Viking collection, and additions need to be good (That shield wall got me in). Along with warriors, I would love to see models that are not necessarily in fighting poses that can be used for scenery and dioramas. Characters from the market square and the docks, and fighters taking a rest by the fire would be good. I do'nt see myself staying for samurai or gladiators, though though oponents for the Vikings in the Saga game might tickle me enough to stick around.

2024-10-28 22:56:55 +0000 UTCExpanding the Viking line and adding Romano Britions would be great! I also like the idea of doing some Gladiators as well! I think also trying to cover historical areas that haven't been covered as much STL wise would be good as well. If going the Samurai route for example, I'd prefer to see some of their historical opponents such as Joseon or Ming, since there is already a large range of Samurai out there.

2024-10-11 04:59:44 +0000 UTCI'd love to see Romano-British and I'd very much prefer to complete a collection before moving on of those two options. However, I think I'd like concurrently running two "rivals" per release better still.

2024-10-10 20:00:52 +0000 UTCExpanding the Viking line or Jugula would be my preference.

2024-10-10 18:58:38 +0000 UTCI would love the Vikings and their enemies to be expanded on. I love your style of miniatures and would ideally like to use them in a game with both sides represented.

2024-10-10 18:11:00 +0000 UTCI’d love samurai, but I gotta advocate for Roman Britons who are also King Arthur’s knights since that’s basically the first historical reference to Arthur, and I haven’t seen anyone actually use that idea.

2024-10-10 16:19:20 +0000 UTCI love the idea of gladiator models in the range.

2024-10-10 15:58:45 +0000 UTCI love the style of your Minis. I hope the vikings get more of them.... and then gladiators (but also imperial romans). And what I still miss in any of your ranges are civilians and property. I think this would give more depth at all ranges. And please... no Samurais - but this is my personal opinion.

2024-10-10 14:54:42 +0000 UTCI would like to see the periods from Late Antiquity (Late Roman period), post Roman, migration era, the Dark Ages, early medieval period, into the Norman period up to the early crusades.

2024-10-10 14:38:33 +0000 UTCWhat i would like to see are short periods of different themes. Like 4 months for bigger factions and 1 or 2 for smaller ones, like gladiators. I think your best bet, are underpresented cultures/factions. For now i'd love to see some opponents of the viking. When there are enough livestock options, civilians would be cool.

2024-10-10 14:07:06 +0000 UTCI would like see a focus on factions which aren't often focused on. There's already so many samurai, and a lot of classic Greeks hoplites (but a different take on the Greeks such as Mycenae, Minoans, Egyptian Greeks, or Bactrian Greeks of central asia would be quite interesting). If you want to have some kind of consistency and tie-in with the Vikings, than perhaps you could focus on that early medieval viking time period, but not just on Vikings. There are so many factions which are overlooked. For example, you have the Byzantines who have not only native soldiers (including the cataphracts and Greek fire!), but also employed many mercenaries including the Varangian guard, Normans, and Steppe riders. This time period you have many steppe tribes such as the Cumans (who have cool face masks), the Bulgars (who become the settled Bulgarians), the early Slavs. You also have the Rus (Vikings in the ukraine region), Armenians to name a few. You could also have native americans as the Vikings encountered the "Skraelings". That being said, I like the idea of Roman Britons, and also of gladiators (they are always cool!), and also the Punic Wars (there's not much focus on Carthage out there either). I would also love a focus on antiquity, but i would hope that it includes many overlooked factions and units like the Balearic slingers (don't worry, I'll spare you another list of factions!) I'll just close out by saying that one thing you could consider to encompass a wide range of factions but not get too bogged down would be to do some as mercenary contingents

2024-10-10 13:23:12 +0000 UTCI prefer to have more complete ranges. I don't mind if several ranges are worked on at the same time, so long as you get something that is gaming useful. I don't like to mix mini from other sculptors because your style is pretty unique. Like some others, I would like to see Anglo Saxons for an opposition range for the Vikings. I really want to see more swashbucklers, and even pirates there is a lack of good adventurous 17th c miniatures. I love gladiators, can never get enough of those. There are a lot of sculptors doing ancients, so I could take a pass on that. Would love to see some colonial Spanish or Portuguese, there are not a lot of 16th c minis out there.
Damon C Richardson
2024-10-10 12:48:56 +0000 UTCI like format where I get something different every month, and I feel your prices are fair so if anyone are missing something for there collection they can always buy it on the side. I like the vikings, but don't feel like I need more then a unit ot two of any of the other historical factions. - I agree that there's enough Japanese models on the market. - I'd love if the gladiators where a mixture of styles but I don't think they need more then 1 release, but I would love that release. - I'd prefer that most of the historical units where compatible with DOW - I still think there's tons of cool fantasy ideas possible. - I'd love seeing more vampire races. I know they've been done a lot, but I've never seen a full range and that would be awesome

2024-10-10 12:32:18 +0000 UTCAs Christian : vikings in britain could get picts, irish, welsh people for a small campaign with lots of raids. And the Rus then Constantinople would be a natural and compatible evolution.

2024-10-10 12:30:29 +0000 UTCLove the idea, Anno 1666 could get more miniatures that way too.

2024-10-10 12:22:57 +0000 UTCI hope you’ll complete the pre-Norman “Vikings in Britain” line. Your Vikings are great … they need an adversary . Such as Anglo-Saxons and raid objectives (villagers / farmers / monks … you’ve done most of the livestock already). With your clever planning I bet a set of different heads, shields, and weapons could easily transform the Anglo-Saxon faction to most of the requirements (levies/light/medium units) for Anglo-Danes, Irish, Scots, and Welsh factions. After Viking in Britain would be cool to see your Vikings head to the Russian Steppes, Constantinople, Africa, etc.

2024-10-10 12:21:45 +0000 UTCSwashbucklers I am looking forward to seeing. Would love decent gladiator models too. There are some options out there but with the LastSword aesthetic they would be spot on.

2024-10-10 12:13:44 +0000 UTCI'm bannerman, not adventurer so not sure if my opinions really value. I want fig that I could use in old world and viking, samurai or other couldn't fit in. But I think samurai coud be a good thing.

Last Sword Miniatures
2024-10-10 11:42:56 +0000 UTCLove the idea of the early medieval units. Gladiators could be cool but it would probably be short termed. Japanese models are rather common, Saga made a KS last year and there's another one launching this month. I'd love to see non European soldiers, maybe from areas that are less frequently explored like North Africa, Central Africa or South America

2024-10-10 11:42:12 +0000 UTCI’d like the idea of a Musketeer / 17th century skirmish line for systems like “En Garde”since there are only few offers for that. Otherwise: Would love to see Samurai/Ronin in Last Sword style 😍
