Selkie Boyfriend: Filip (special preview)
Added 2020-06-16 21:00:59 +0000 UTCA few weeks ago, you had made a mistake. Not anything too serious, nothing horrible or ghastly. Just an honest mistake. You had gone on vacation to visit family back in Scotland. While there, you had taken a lot of walks on the shore, when one afternoon, you had found a coat. You searched the beach for its owner, that was your mistake.
It turns out, the man was a Selkie. You’d never really believed the stories, because that’s all they were, stories. Filip was instantly smitten by you, he accepted your proposal, because that’s why giving him the coat was. You proposed! You tried to explain yourself out of it, but Filip was so excited and happy about the engagement. Something within you caved in. It wasn’t like you were going to get a partner the normal way, and he was pretty cute.
Filip was tall and thick, large arms, strong legs, a round belly, bubble butt, and he was extremely handsome. His hair was long and shiny, gray and white mingling to match his coat. His entire body was covered in freckles. The only reason you knew this is because he walked around half naked quite a bit. Outside the water he was always hot, so he strutted around with only his bottom half covered, and sometimes it was just underwear.
You left home alone, but you returned with Filip in hand. It was strange getting used to someone being at your house all the time. You had lived along for so long, that now, having a presence in your home was shocking, especially one like Filip. He’s exuberant and lively, things you would never use to describe yourself.
You work at a fabric store as well as make quilts. The quilts are really your main source of income, one good quilt has you set for the month. But you so love the fabric store and the people there. The little old ladies who have their knitting circles and sewing clubs have become very dear to you.
“Did I see you shopping the other day with a handsome young man?” One of them asks.
You nearly drop the sewing kit you’re carrying and you turn to look at her with surprise. “You sure it was me you saw?” You ask shakily.
“I’m fairly certain.” She then smiles and pats the arm of the woman beside her. “Look at her being modest. This young man she had with her was really quite handsome.”
You still weren’t sure about your engagement with Filip. After all, it was really strange, he was a sort of monster after all. Is that right? Would monster be the correct way to classify him? You couldn’t decide, but you were having a hard time getting over a few hurdles. It was strange of course, it was fast too, you also were feeling like you didn’t deserve it. Like they were saying, Filip was very handsome, too handsome for someone like you.
“Big boy too,” the woman chuckles. “Looked like he could break a bed any night.”
The circle broke into laughter and titters over the bawdy joke while you narrowly made your escape. It wasn’t that you didn’t like Filip, far from the truth, in your time with him you had really grown to like him. He was sweet and tender with you, you felt safe with him too. It was just this feeling of being undeserving you couldn’t shake. Filip was so great, he deserved someone who could be his equal, and in your mind, that wasn’t you.
At home, Filip kept things clean and cooked dinner for you all the time. He was excited when you came through the door, giving you great big hugs and long, soft kisses. You could almost fall for those kisses, but then those awful thoughts always crept back up.
“You don’t have to do this all the time,” you say gently to him. “You’re free to do whatever you want here.”
“But I like taking care of you,” he says brightly. His green eyes sparkle as he looks at you. “Is that okay?”
You press your lips into a firm line. “Of course it is. But if you didn’t want to, or had something else you would prefer to do, I’m saying you should do it.”
He tilts his head to the side and looks at you. “Is there something wrong?” He asks.
You shake your head quickly. “No. Of course not. I just want you to know that, whatever you choose, you should do it for you.”
