Proof of Life #210: First release of Update 11 this weekend
Added 2024-02-05 15:29:10 +0000 UTCHeya ya lovely people, how is it going in this fine morning/afternoon/evening? It's started snowing over here, pretty heavily. Also, as expected last Monday, I got sick for most of last week, but nothing too serious.
So, over to development now: I've spent last week testing, polishing, working on the story, and adding the extra scene. Based on the current progress, I've decided against adding the beginning of the next main quest or Haylen's side-quest in this update, and instead will use any extra time to add maybe a few more freeroam events, a new Triple Trident opponent, and do some more polishing. There's also one extra story scene I need to implement to finish the current main quest which I had completely forgotten about.
Besides, cutting a bit on story content for this update will allow me to release it on time. The initial estimate was the 10th of February (this Saturday), and if everything goes well, the new update should be out either on Saturday or Sunday.
That's it! Going back to work now. I'll most likely see you in less than a week for the next release : )

If one update leaking can cause that big of a loss in supporters then it's likely a longer time between updates could cause a significant drop in money brought in by N_Taii's patreon.

Not everyone is paying monthly to support the dev, many people only subscribe to devs on Patreon whenever there is a new Update available, so by cutting the amount of release dates in half, N_Taii would be cutting the money he's getting from these people in half as well. Maybe N_Taii has other reasons besides this, but i feel like this is definitely one.

Possibly this will annoy a couple of people, but from the way you describe what you are doing in the PoL I don't know, I feel that you are a little more relaxed and calm without the pressure of meeting the release date every month, plus it will give you more time to polish details and add more things (also experiment with certain things if you want) as I said, possibly if you do it a part of the community will be upset, but at the same time I think they would understand if it is for the game to improve and have more quality.
