Proof of Life #198: What's going on behind closed doors?
Added 2023-11-06 13:34:56 +0000 UTCHeya, what's going on you sexy beasts, hope you're having a nice morning/afternoon/evening! Still hard at work, harder than ever since we're getting close to release. Regarding this, I've got good and bad news.
So, the bad news is that I definitely won't be able to release the game on Wednesday as initially planned. I'm still not done with Haylen's quest, mainly because I kept changing things around and reworking the second part of the quest since I wasn't satisfied with it. It shouldn't be too long though, the first release should drop during the weekend at the latest, maybe earlier depending on how smoothly things go.
The good news is that the pixel artists worked a lot faster than expected, so I was able to commission more stuff from them, which allowed me to make some non-erotic scenes a bit lewder and add a few more details during the erotic ones.
Ideally, I'd like to add 4 freeroam events to this update, one with each side and main character, along with the 5 new scenes (+1 extra), and a new lewd stage for Lily and Haylen's full-body portraits in the characters screen.
Okay, that's it for this week. It's a short PoL because I'm focsuing on work, and I'll be releasing the next update before next Monday anyway, so it's not the last you hear of me this week ; )

True... I forgot about her nun friend. Either way! I still think her situation is silly. Putting myself in Leto's shoes (Not knowing that he lives in an NTR porn game where every noteworthy woman in his life is GUARANTEED to get mind controlled by penis), I would still call Jazon out because he's insufferable bastard who sticks his nose into family dinners, and Haylen is clearly buying his sob story. It's strange how the MC doesn't do or say anything after watching some troglodyte lie to and grope the nun who raised him like a mother. Also still weird that Haylen would abandon her decades long faith for such an obviously twisted fool. She sees him going against her faith (having sex with some random girl, during mass, in the house of her goddess, on the bed her children slept in), so she decides to go against her faith too? Who is this guy for her to ignore all the disrespect and disregard he has shown for everything she cares about? Everything but his own lust?

He's got no idea about what's going on behind the scene between Jazon and Haylen, and he just thinks Jazon is some kind of harmless playboy that Haylen would never fall for, what would he warn her for?

I still have the entirety of Haylen's last scene to commission, and while I've split it between a lot of artists to hasten it, it'll depend on how fast they can deliver. As for me, I still have stuff to do like freeroams, testing, etc... I personally should be done with everything by Saturday evening, but I won't release the game until I've gotten all the sprites I need, and I can't go and whip the artists so they work faster.

2023-11-07 16:10:18 +0000 UTCNo, no it really wouldn't be. I love the free roam scenes but without story to build them around they're pointless. An update purely focused on free roam means that we either wouldn't get any plot or the only "reward" for playing through the events of the update would be free roam scenes. So you do an update and what's your reward? Rose moaning behind a closed door, Cyanna's silhouette behind a closed curtain with some moans and Leto being all "?", maybe Lily getting spanked which we can see through a window, perhaps Haylen being pressured by whatever the guy who is after her is named and then we get a few seconds of whatever sex act they may be getting into. The free roam scenes are the cherry on the sundae and an update focused on just free roam scenes would be just a bowl full of cloyingly sweet, unsatisfying cherries.

2023-11-07 03:32:20 +0000 UTCThe problem with that is that Freeroam events don't just appear out of nowhere, players need to complete prerequisite quests that triggers freeroam events, or it's not like they don't, they CAN'T appear out of nowhere, something needs to trigger them. For example the freeroam event where Rose is giving the Duke a blowjob in the window only triggers if you complete the quest in which Rose finally gives in and blows the Duke for the first time, you can't see that event before that. And that applies to proper scenes as well, not just freeroam events. It's not impossible to do an Update like the one you're talking about, but i don't think we're ever gonna see somehing like that.

2023-11-06 21:31:22 +0000 UTCThe max freeroam I'm allowing myself to put into one single update is 4 (unless it's some kind of special update). Since those things take quite a lot of time to implement, I have to limit myself to a certain number or I'll always try to do more or at least as much as the previous update, and I'll keep raising expectations to add more and more content within the same amount of time. I'm just a single dev after all, I wanna avoid ending up burnt out^^ If by THAT, you mean sex, then I might disappoint you. I want to take some more time to ease the main characters into the idea of having regular sex (since they were kind of pressured into it by the circumstances last time) before they start doing it all over the map. Don't worry though, you'll see plenty of them in due time : )

2023-11-06 17:28:01 +0000 UTCI kinda wish there were more freeroam evets coming with the Update, especially for Rose&Haylen, but i guess it makes sense cause Lily&Haylen got quite a few new ones last time and there's nothing new contentwise for Rose&Cyanna. When i first read the PoL i was gonna ask if you could increase that number from a 4 to a 6 maybe but i'm actually fine with 4 since i'm pretty sure that 3 out of 4 of those freeroam events will be THAT kind of a freeroam event (at least i really hope so), with Lily's freeroam as an exception obviously.
