Proof of Life #184: About Update 8 (pretty important, so public)

Heya everyone, it's N_Taii, back again with his good ol' PoL post. How's your Monday going? Fine, I hope?

I've taken last Thursday off, then I've taken it a bit easy until the week-end, but now I'm back in full swing with a tad bit more Cyanna coming up for those who've had a Rose overdose (nice rhyme).

But this isn't really what I wanted to talk about in this PoL. First of all, I wanted to thank you once again for your support and for being so understanding with every single one of my delays. Being able to work in an environment with such a nice playerbase is a real blessing.

Now, about Update 8. Some of you might have heard already, but I'll be on a break for the entire month of September. Thing is, I don't feel burned out or anything, the reason is different. Starting from September, I'll be moving countries, and more than countries actually, I'm going on another continent for a full year. I'm going from Europe to Asia, in Japan to be precise. From 09.2023 to 09.2024. So I thought that, with all the moving preparations, and along with the fact that I don't want to land and then be back to full-time work the next day, I've come to the conclusion that not working in September would be the best choice. With that in mind, the amount of every Patreon tier will be doubled so you all can pay for my vacations, muhahaha!... More seriously, all payments will be stopped for September, as long as I'm not working, obviously.

Now that I've laid down the context around this September break, I want to adress Update 8. Usually, I update once every 35-40 days, but it would then mean a normal update in August, then what? A mini update before September? Or reporting it to October? I don't know about you, but this all feels pretty inconvenient, and nobody wants mini-updates anyway. So I've decided (unless people are really against the idea) that I'd rather do one bigger update which would span over July and two thirds of August, so I can release it right before my break. This would mean the next update wouldn't be in early August as it should be, but would be instead around the 20th-25th of August, with more content down the line.

What do you say? That way, the break might feel less lengthy for you, and you'll be left with a more sizeable update right before I leave. Also, I'll be less stressed-out. Win-win, right?
