I originally had the impression that Kat and Eric were intimate, and that Eric had backed away from her when he decided she was "family" and not appropriate as a lover, but increasingly I get the sensation that they never were, and Kat wished they were. It's very interesting to hear Nora talk about love and relationships like that. She clearly wants to find someone who sees her as an equal in a relationship, because that would make it meaningful. And as for Kathrin...I don't think any of us know who she'll eventually end up with. It's doubtful that Eric will ever see her as someone other than a sister, as he doesn't want to imagine her in the other way-sees her as too important in his life for that.
