One Piece Episode 168-170 REACTION (Uncut)

Comments

still broke

Several of Zoro's attacks have Buddhist themes, this one is centered around the 108 "feelings" or "earthly desires" described by Bhante Gunaratana, though in this case he leaves out the final multiplcation by 3, arriving at 36 instead of 108. I also really like how he seems to be convincing himself, or maybe just visualizing what he wants to happen, when he says "I am a canon. You are a pistol. My canon will win."

Ruff are you re-reacting to openings when you get there? I think we have opening 4 starting in these episodes

Padding out the recaps as much as possible to kill time is one of the ways One Piece tries to avoid filler eps.

"He gives me creepy Dio vibes when he laughs." Ironically Eneru's seiyuu would go on to do Yoshikage Kira in JOJO.

Yeah, enjoy those 5 minute intro/recaps while you can. You will be wishing for that when you reach the episodes where it is consistently 7-8 minutes (granted there's no ending song at the point).

And it is possible that we get an explanation for much of the remaining 5 procent later.

The foreshadowing in this arc specifically is no joke. Oda is a genius when it comes to foreshadowing. when everything introduced in this arc is finally explained later in the series you will be mind blown. Great reactions btw! Can’t wait to see more!!!

Wyper was mad at Gon Fall saying I like pumpkin juice because you need dirt(verth) to grow pumpkins, so Gon Fall was basically telling Wyper he liked the dirt and didnt want to give it back

TheJoestarWithTheStrawHat

One awesome thing about the writing of this series is that if you don't know what's going on / can't explain how something (for example Mantra) works, you can be assured that 95% of the time it will be explained! Look forward to it

An important thing to explain about Zoro's new move that gets lost in translation: the Japanese term for Phoenix sounds like Cannon, which is why Zoro talks about "pointing a cannon". The 36 pound also refers to the weight of the cannonball, which is how they used to measure the power of a cannon back in the day. For reference, 36-pound cannons were some of the largest cannons they put on ships and forts in the Revolutionary War era. Basically it's all an elaborate pun, which tracks with the rest of Zoro's moves.

bchansta

we will have to wait and see, depends it its crazy and if he has the time lol

GordoGonk
