Trapped in Honkai: Integrated Strategies [3]

“I don't know exactly what rewards I'll get for clearing just one floor, but saving enough to strengthen my real body is definitely an option. Worst case, I can spend two years inside the system. Anyway, the Honkai main story won't start for quite a while.”

[That's technically possible, but the rewards for clearing only the first floor are pretty minimal—just 2 Originium Ingot. But if you collect 6, you can reach Elite 1, greatly enhancing your body.]

[Though it’s not the most efficient method, that should at least grant you the physical and energy capabilities comparable to a B-rank Valkyrie. Plus, you'll get a random Elite skill and talent assigned by the system.]

“Next up, choosing a squad...” Lyra studied the four available options on the screen thoughtfully. “I can probably guess there’s no one else but me on the team, but you don’t even have temporary recruitments?”

[Host, recruitment here works differently from the game.]

[Normal recruitment only allows you to recruit characters you've already obtained—but right now, that’s just you.]

[Support recruitment is based on your real-life friends, letting you bring allies from reality into battle. Unfortunately, you haven't met any actual people yet.]

[Temporary recruitment is a bit special. It's mainly designed for Elysian Realm scenarios. Here, it's almost useless unless triggered by rune debates or special dialogues, so you won't find operators that way.]

“So basically, whichever I pick, I’ll just end up recruiting myself?”

Lyra shrugged, choosing the final squad labeled [As Your Heart Desires]. Immediately, three recruitment tickets appeared on the panel.

Clicking open the first one labeled [Elite Sniper Rec. Voucher], Lyra saw her own profile picture clearly displayed—a smiling, black-haired girl gazing warmly forward, as though encouraging her future self.

“My ID photo’s actually pretty cute,” Lyra remarked, then clicked the remaining two tickets. As expected, both were empty.

After finalizing squad selection, the camp’s two tents opened their curtains automatically, revealing their interiors.

[The left tent contains your starting items, including Foldartals, Collectibles, and Detector. The bigger tent on the right is for your team members—but since you’re alone, it only holds your weapon.]

“My weapon?” Curious, Lyra ducked into the right tent and emerged a moment later, clutching a sniper rifle.

“A sniper rifle? Is this because I recruited myself using a sniper ticket?”

[Precisely because it was an Elite Sniper Rec. Voucher.]

[If it had been a Sniper Rec. Voucher, you'd probably have ended up with just a bow or crossbow.[

“You’re pretty thorough for such a weird system,” Lyra chuckled, slipping into the left tent next. She emerged struggling with a huge backpack.

“I never imagined the [Foldartals] were actually this large,” Lyra grumbled, setting the hefty pack near the fire and pulling out a complicated-looking black box.

On the box was a small screen displaying a map of Lyra’s current location. A tiny "3" appeared in the corner. Beneath, an additional line read clearly:

[Upon clearing this floor, you will obtain the Foldartal: "Canopy"]

“So this is what a detector actually looks like,” Lyra mused, examining the device closely. “I recall the first floor of the Expeditioner's Joklumarkar is called Brisk Marshlands. This must be the blue region on the map, then.”

[Exactly. Since it's now real, you won't just be running through linear stages like in-game. The system has fully rendered the entire map.]

[However, your path options remain the same. Choosing vertical side-paths will still decrease your interference resistance. After all, it isn't a true open world. We still have to follow the system’s fundamental logic.]

“Now let me check my [Foldartals]…” Lyra placed the detector aside and removed the three rune tablets from her bag.

In reality, each [Foldartals] was about the size of a thick book, and stacked together, they had considerable weight.

Unwrapping the [Foldartals], Lyra’s eyes lit up instantly.

[Silence], [Advent], [Love]? Seriously, am I this lucky? A god-tier start on my first run?”

[Given how terribly unlucky you were during transmigration, you certainly deserve some good fortune now, don’t you?]

The system’s voice had a tiny note of pride.

“Then thanks to whoever gave me this good luck,” Lyra laughed softly, silently offering her appreciation for the system’s subtle help.

“Now it’s finally time to set out. Let's see the map…”

Lyra hefted the backpack onto her shoulders, slung her sniper rifle across her back, and opened the detector again.

“The left path leads to a campsite near a deep pond, while the right goes to a village pillaged by Syracusans…”

“Ah, these must be [No More Than Four] and [Hands of Moss], right?”

Lyra frowned in thought before offering a hesitant guess.

[Yes! Host, you’re quite familiar with Integrated Strategies, aren’t you?]

Quietly tucking away a reference guide, the system nervously complimented her.

“Which should I pick?” Lyra recalled the enemy composition of both encounters. “Both have quite a few enemies, don't they? By the way, what's my victory condition for combat stages?”

[Considering this is real combat, the system has simplified things slightly.]

[You just have to defeat every enemy at the location—there's no health bar or similar restrictions.]

[Collectibles and Rewards granting health or shields will directly benefit your squad.]

“That’s perfect. Now I don't have to worry about the [Defender’s] three-block limit,” Lyra declared confidently, locking the [Detector's] guidance onto Mossy Hands. “Me and the [Defender] will absolutely crush them!”

Following the [Detector's] directions, Lyra departed the camp and trudged through snow for about five or six minutes before the device indicated she’d reached the outskirts of the village.

“You know, there's something I've really been wanting to complain about.” Lyra twitched at the sight of the burnt-out village releasing black smoke into the sky. “This snow is thick enough that even walking is hard. Why the heck did the Siracusans come all the way out here?”

[Excellent question. Sadly, these enemies won’t talk—I'd love to hear their explanation myself.]

The system joined in, playfully criticizing the scenario designers.

“So, if I go further, I'll enter the combat zone. How do I activate the [Foldartals]?”

[Just stack the corresponding "Layout" and "Sources" Foldartals together.]

“Got it.” Lyra put the [Love] rune back in her bag and unwrapped the other two:

A red stone engraved with a fortress—[Silence]—and a tri-colored stone etched with mountains—[Advent].

Taking a deep breath, Lyra pressed the [Advent] rune onto [Silence].

[Initiating Declaration]

[Activating Kvama’s Concord Dialogue]

[Ask the woods for directions with no response]
[Mountain rocks stand alone]

Blinding light exploded from the two runes, forcing Lyra to squint.

When the brilliance faded, a heavily armored warrior stood silently before her, wielding a massive shield glowing with intimidating blue light.
