The day before the 8th Sapphic Slumber Party I had a family emergency. Not only was I exhausted and distracted when party time came, but my PTSD brain was struggling to handle everything at once. I felt so fortunate to have such a strong group of women to lean on, not a thing was missed, not an errand went by the wayside, not an ask went unanswered. It was wonderful. So many eager hands to help out made an impossible task absolutely possible, and we had a wonderful weekend.

One of the gifts graced upon me during this weekend were generous acts of service. I am so thankful. Service is such a beautiful love language, and I appreciate the most when I really need it.
Piper brought me tea (just the way I like it) and gave me drool-worthy foot massages. Mars and Anna helped out with all sorts of little tasks. As I scroll through the photos from that night these moments warm my heart.

Top photo: Anna tying my flagging wristband for me (I wore pink, which reminded everyone I want to give out spankings… babes who chose yellow were looking to receive spankings). Usually I’m running around as the party begins, doing jobs and last minute details. Everyone encouraged me to rest, so I did, and Anna scurried over to get the right colours for me and secure them on my wrist. It felt so nice being doted on, knowing everything would still be okay even if I couldn’t do ALL THE THINGS.
Middle photo: Before the event began on Saturday night Ms.O and I took some time out in the main bedroom to regroup and do some logistics. Venting and problem solving always happen behind the scenes. Piper was so sweet to bring us tea and keep the room quiet. She looked so sweet sitting at the foot of the bed while O and I schemed that I had to snap this cute shot.
Last photo: In the wee hours of the morning Piper offers her adoring company and skillful foot massages. I am thoroughly taken care of. Behind us in the room Mars is braiding Madeleine and Zara’s hair together, one of the new girls flogs Beth. I feel like a decadent den mother watching all the fun while Piper rubs my feet. It was one of my favourite moments of the whole weekend.
