Spring is here and I want to eat it up. Give me soil, feed me green, sustain me with birdsong.
I’ve been rebirthed too, last Spring I was Persephone, dragged further underground, this Spring I’ve returned, heavy with flowers that will bloom in the Summer.
There will be no more descending, the spell was cast years ago with a horseshoe and two iron nails. It took time to take hold. It took time for me to see it. I touched my fingers to the rusted metal today, thanked the Earth for sustaining me. The earth thanked me back for sustaining hope. I wept, just a little, watering the flowers.
