Welcome! This guide will walk you through everything you need to know about the Mobile Camera script for Assetto Corsa. We'll cover installation, usage, and a clear explanation of each slider and setting.
1. How to Install
Installation is simple:
Extract the .rar file you downloaded.
Inside it, you’ll find a folder (e.g. MobileCamera).
Drag and drop this folder into:
...\assettocorsa\apps\lua\
2. How to Use In-Game
Start any session (Practice, Hotlap, etc.).
Open the app sidebar (move mouse to the right edge of the screen).
Find and click the app (e.g. "MobileCamera").
Tick "Mobile Camera ON/OFF" to activate it.
Basic Controls
Right Mouse Button + Move Mouse: Look around
Q: Arm Out animation (outside the car)
E: Return animation (inside the car)
W/S: Move camera forward/backward
A/D: Move camera left/right
R/F: Move camera up/down
3. UI Tabs & Sliders Explained
Arm Out Animation
Controls the Q/E animation:
Inside/Outside Position (X, Y, Z): Define start and end camera positions
Animation Speed: Controls transition speed
Free Camera
Spectator-style camera with G-force feedback:
Enable Free Camera: Activate flying camera
WASD Speed: Movement speed
G-Force Intensity: Camera shake from car
Hand Tremor: Adds realism
Camera Stabilization: Smoothens chaotic motion
Camera Position
Basic camera positioning inside the car:
Left/Right, Height, Front/Rear Position: Set with sliders
G-Force Settings
Defines how the camera reacts to driving physics:
Overall G-Force Response: Master control
Car Shake Power: Vibration strength
Lateral Force: Side swing during corners
Vertical Force: Bounce from bumps and curbs
Longitudinal Force: Pitch during acceleration/braking
Mouse Inertia (disable to use the manual mouse)
Simulates high-G aiming difficulty:
Enable Mouse Inertia
Mouse Inertia Strength: Higher = heavier, more realistic feel
Car Tracking (still confused and inconsistent)
Auto-follows a selected car:
Enable Car Tracking
G-Force Resistance: Camera struggles to stay centered, for realism
Bump System
Fine-tunes road surface response:
Enable Car Pitch: Recommended OFF – disables slow pitch
Enable Car Roll: Recommended ON – adds natural corner tilt
Arm Physics
Controls camera body motion:
Arm Mass: Low = snappy, High = smooth
Damping Forces: Low = bouncy, High = stable
Phone Rotation (doesn't work as it should)
Small, realistic movements from your virtual hand:
Phone Inertia: Controls rotation heaviness
Restore Force: How fast it returns to neutral position
Save / Load
Save your custom setup:
Save Settings Permanently: Critical!
Load Permanent Settings: Load saved config
Reset All Settings to Default: Start fresh
Bug Fixes & NotesAfter enabling the app, you must cycle through the in-game cameras at least once.
Make sure you return to cockpit camera. This ensures mouse control works correctly. If you're recording from outside the car and notice audio issues, try cycling through cameras again.
You can also force external audio in the CSP settings (recommended for consistency). You can spectate other cars/passengers, but G-force effects won’t work for them — this is a known CSP limitation.
Final Tip
Adjust one slider at a time to feel the difference.
Start with the G-Force Settings tab — it's the most impactful.
Once satisfied, always save your setup so it loads automatically next time.
Comments
interesting enough, i've just found that the corners allow me to move pretty quick, but when i right click in the middle of the screen, there seems to be a lock on the movement
