April 30 Update
Added 2017-04-30 22:20:59 +0000 UTCApril has been an unusually busy month in terms of Patreon updates, hasn't it? I'll cover some miscellaneous business, then talk about TLS 0.27.0.
Thanks again to everyone who helped out by reviewing Ouroboros in Newgrounds. I wasn't sure if it would be well-received, but it has a rating approaching 4/5 and it got three awards: Frontpaged, Daily Second, and Review Crew Pick. With over 25k views so far, that's a lot of new eyes on my work. It didn't lead to all that many sales or new patrons (that I can be sure of), but it did lead to enough that I feel good about the time I spent on it.
Random news: I have been complaining to Patreon about the comments system and they actually responded positively! Improving this is allegedly a priority for them over the coming period, so I gave the best feedback I could.
May events: next month should include the release of KoD over at Hreinn Games and another TLS update. It probably won't include the side project I have been alluding to, but hopefully that day is drawing closer. You may also get another preview that should be fun. The TLS update is what I'll talk about for the rest of this post.
It seems I may not have been clear enough, so in case anyone is uncertain: the party's plans for Aram are completely wrecked. Their plans have gone smoothly for a while, so I wanted some red herrings. ^-^ The balance of the political situation is irrevocably altered; next Yhilin iteration the party will have a last moment to breathe before war begins.
My plan for the third chapter of TLS was that it would begin with a battle and end with a war. While the upcoming events aren't going to be an extended, full scale war - that would be a game unto itself - they're definitely going to be major and I want them to have real weight and impact.
This is going to be similar to the Battle of Yhilin in some ways, but I also hope to take what I learned from there and execute it bigger and better. This will be longer (more than one update) and there are a lot more elements in play. So many plot seeds and hidden variables will finally come to the fore... just putting together everything in a satisfying way will be a real task.
What I do not know, at this stage, is how many updates the war will require. Part of this will be determined by event flow: I don't want to break logical units into pieces, even if that means longer/shorter updates. Part of it is real world scheduling: I don't want to double up on other releases. Maybe I'll fold the next Yhilin visit into another update, maybe it will be a quick update to keep up momentum while other things happen.
I'm not sure exactly how things will go, but I promise you this: I'll be working a lot on TLS to bring you the upcoming war events in the most efficient fashion I can. One thing I'll say: this war will cover a whole bunch of your answers to the "What are you looking forward to most?" question on the demographics survey. This should be a lot of fun for everyone. ^-^

Yeah, I've had a lot of fun on NG over the years. Happy to have you with us!

2017-05-17 21:29:14 +0000 UTCNot to be late to the party but I actually saw Ouro on NG and it drove me to buy the game and pledge. A friend of NG is a friend of mine.
2017-05-17 21:17:58 +0000 UTCIvala provides. ;)
2017-05-06 11:16:53 +0000 UTCMy stated "thing to look forward to" was the advancement of Sarai's plotline. I realize now that one way to work around the celibacy spells would be if Sarai got raped in the course of the war. Jeez, that'd teach me to be careful what I wish for.

2017-05-03 00:57:25 +0000 UTCAhhhhhh....I can already feel my brain leaking out of my ears at the news of the war. Such is the curse of the optimizer.

2017-05-02 07:48:14 +0000 UTCScrew it. Throw a curve ball in there and have Simon challenge the Incubus Emperor to a sex off while Aka sneaks around back and makes everyone that matters a lot happier.

2017-05-02 03:17:26 +0000 UTCMy one hope with the war is that Riala defects early on. Her inside knowledge could be critical. Yes. Her inside knowledge. Nothing else. Certainly not the fact that her long delayed marathon sex session with Simon would come with her defection. This is about the war.

2017-05-02 03:16:01 +0000 UTCTo fully chart the invasion of Yhilin ended up taking a few days for three people collaborating via the chat room and gdocs. This sounds... fun.

2017-05-01 20:54:35 +0000 UTCThere shall be war, and there shall be the glorious task of maximizing and figure out what to change I shall sweat tears, blood, and lots of spreadsheets for the glorious task ahead.

2017-05-01 20:20:23 +0000 UTCDon't forget the heads of all the optimizers and completionists... spreadsheets, spreadsheets everywhere :P
Hopeless romantic
2017-05-01 16:09:27 +0000 UTCBigger and more complex than the Battle for Yhilin? I can already see the heads of the wiki editors exploding. :)

2017-05-01 09:46:00 +0000 UTCMy read on it was that Iris is taking the Incubus Emperor's order as a blank cheque to do what she thinks is best. That is to say: finish conquering the ENTIRE continent. Note all those seeds she has on hand. It's mentioned at the start of Chapter 2 that it's astonishing Iris had two seeds on hand. She used another against the elves in Chapter 3. Now she had many more. Basically, Iris seems to have measured the odds and decided to stockpile some lusty WMD for gameday. That day has finally come. Which fits in with Iris's characterization; Iris flat out doesn't think the Incubus Emperor can be personally defeated, and has said so, but she has also been shown to be considerate of her own people. Winning the upcoming war required that WMD Trump card, otherwise it'll be another multi-year slog that'll kill a hell of a lot succubi.

2017-05-01 01:33:12 +0000 UTCNo, you were perfectly clear about excrement hitting rotating blades when it came to their plans for Aram... The only thing that was left somewhat unclear (possibly on purpose) is who Incubus Emperor plan to attack: Aram, Yhilin, Ardohaim or someone else completely. Logic say it's Aram but considering the guy is completely insane any or even all of the above could be possible.

2017-05-01 01:03:15 +0000 UTCPercentage investing was the theme of this chapter, but things will go back to ProN investing fairly soon. You'll get returns from everything you've invested in so far and one last chance to make a few investments. Then after that, the cycle of ProN investing will become a little more stable( and more global). I have so many notes for this war... I'll be doing my best to make it all come together as well as I can!

2017-05-01 00:47:03 +0000 UTCThose were red herrings to help the plot twist work. ^-^ They refer to real places/things, though - they'll come up again later.

2017-05-01 00:43:44 +0000 UTCCan I Ask if there will be another round of ProN investing before/after the war? It seems like Slums Petition House uses ProN returns from early investments to calculate initial percentage so I'm wondering if percentage investing will ProN investing. I'm excited about the War. I've spent a lot of hours optimizing my Investments and choices (probably even more than playing the game itself :D ) and BoY was my favourite part of the game so far. I Can't wait to see this "better and bigger".

2017-04-30 23:11:28 +0000 UTCQuestions about the deep tunnels and what the captian wants done? Is that going to be in the next update or was there no plans for us to be able to do either?

2017-04-30 22:29:04 +0000 UTCExcellent. Also, I already feel intimidated.
