I have another memory where I learned about taxes on that trip. I had been given 5$ to buy a souvenir. I found a deer plush that was $4.99 when they told me the total was $5.25 I felt panic for the first time. Luckily one of my teachers was paying attention (it may have been another shopper, but I think it was my teacher) and handed me a quarter. I still have that deer plush over 10 years later.

I went to this place called Land Between The Lakes. It's in Kentucky. It was a field trip. We saw a white buck deer, some wolves, coyotes, and bison and elk. But, I had an experience where I saw a worker there in the Nature Station, that's what they call the snake and other small critter's exhibit. It's indoors and has a gift shop. Anyway. I walked up next to the work who had a Monarch butterfly on the counter. I saw the butterfly not moving and was concerned for the butterfly(I thought they were hurting it, or it was dead or something.) I asked them what they were doing. They were putting a tracking device smaller than the head of a pen on the wing (It was like a sticker if I remember correctly). They were gonna track it's progress on it's migration to Mexico. They then let me release it. I had it on my hand outside, and it sprang awake absurdly quickly and flew off. It made a huge impact on my love of animals, that's for sure. I have wanted to work in the animal field for like, ever. However, life gives me factory work right now. Maybe one day.
