部屋の喧騒が収まり、残されたのは疲れ果てた空気と、微かに漂う淫靡な匂いだけだった。征士郎は静かに立ち上がり、ボンに向き直る。

征士郎

「ボンさん、本当にすいませんでした。」声は低く、悔恨と礼儀が混じっていた。彼の瞳には、まだ収まらない混乱が揺れている。

ボン

「んだから、いいって。気にすんなよ。」ボンは大らかに笑い、片手を振って見せる。「まあ、俺らもちょいと悪ふざけが過ぎちまったのもあるしな。」その口調は軽いが、どこか申し訳なさそうな響きがあった。

征士郎

「それじゃあ、今日は失礼します。」一礼し、彼は踵を返す。背中に感じる視線を無視するように、静かに部屋を後にした。

ボン

「あいよ。」ボンは小さく手を上げ、彼を見送った。

ボン

「しっかし、坊ちゃんも遠回りなことするねぇ。精力お化けの源三さんのためにこうして楽しめる捌け口を作ってやってんだろ？」

白也

「仕方ないでしょう。俺は親父には逆らえませんし…今はまだ…」

ボン

「ふーん、愛だねぇ。」

白也

「何すか、それ。」

ボン

「いーのいーの、まあまたなんか面白そうなことあったら言ってくれよ。力になるからさ。なっ！次期当主さん！」

夕日が石畳を赤く染め始めた頃、源三は息子の肩にもたれながら、よろよろと歩みを進めていた。尻からは汁が滴り、マラからも白濁した液がこぼれ落ちる。その姿は無様で、かつての威厳はどこにも見当たらない。フラフラと揺れる足取りに合わせて、源三は掠れた声で呟いた。

源三

「すまん…征士郎……」言葉は弱々しく、罪悪感と疲労に塗れている。

征士郎

「……。」

だが、征士郎はそれに応えず、ただ黙って父を支えていた。

ボンは、ふと思い出したように口を開いた。

ボン

「あ、そうだ。源三さんからせっかく取ったションベン、飲むのも飲ますのも忘れてたわ。まぁ、しゃーねぇか。また機会はあるよな？」彼は豪快に笑いながら、隣に立つ白也を軽く肘でつつく。

白也

「さあ、どうでしょうね。」白也は曖昧に笑い、肩をすくめた。「でも、まあ努力はしますよ。ただ今は、皆さんに祭りを楽しんでもらえるようにするのが先ですかね。」その声には冷静さと、少しの疲れが混じっていた。

ボン

「ああ、そうだった。もうすぐだもんな。それにあのでかいのも帰ってくるって話だろ？」目を細めてニヤリと笑うボンに、白也が頷く。

白也

「ええ、よくご存知で。」短く答えた白也の視線は、遠く夕焼けの空へと向けられていた。

ボン

「ははは、楽しみにしてるよ。」ボンの笑い声が暮れゆく空に響いた。

回想

源三

「コラ、征士郎！風呂上がりにそんなにくっつくな、暑いだろ。」

征士郎

「だって父上の背中、おっきくて広くて好きなんだもん」

小さい頃の父の広い背中はオラの世界そのもので

今の背中よりずっとカッコ良かった…

The room’s chaos settles, leaving only a weary stillness and a faint, lewd scent hanging in the air. Seishiro rises quietly, turning to face Bon.

Seishiro
“Bon-san, I’m really sorry about all this.”
His voice is low, laced with regret and courtesy. His eyes still flicker with unresolved turmoil.

Bon
“I told ya, it’s fine. Don’t worry about it.”
Bon laughs warmly, waving a hand dismissively. “Guess we got a bit carried away with the fun, huh?”
His tone’s light, but there’s a hint of apology underneath.

Seishiro
“Then I’ll take my leave for today.”
He bows slightly, turning on his heel. Ignoring the gazes on his back, he steps out in silence.

Bon
“See ya.”
Bon raises a hand in a casual farewell, watching him go.

Bon
“Man, the young master sure takes the long way around, huh? Setting up a little outlet like this for Genzo, that stamina freak.”

Hakuya
“Can’t be helped. I can’t go against Father… not yet, anyway.”

Bon
“Hmm, that’s love, ain’t it?”

Hakuya
“What’s that supposed to mean?”

Bon
“Nothing, nothing! Just lemme know if something fun comes up again. I’ll lend a hand, alright, next head of the house!”

As the setting sun paints the cobblestones red, Genzo stumbles along, leaning on his son’s shoulder. Liquid drips from his rear, and a thick, white trickle seeps from his groin. His figure is pitiful, stripped of all former dignity, his steps shaky and faltering. In a hoarse whisper, he mutters:

Genzo
“Sorry… Seishiro…”
His words tremble, heavy with guilt and exhaustion.

Seishiro
“…”
But Seishiro stays silent, supporting his father without a word.

Bon suddenly perks up, as if remembering something.

Bon
“Oh, right! We forgot to drink—or make him drink—that piss we got from Genzo. Oh well, no biggie. There’s always next time, huh?”
He lets out a booming laugh, elbowing Hakuya lightly.

Hakuya
“Who knows.”
Hakuya gives a vague smile, shrugging. “We’ll try, I guess. But for now, it’s about making sure everyone enjoys the festival.”
His voice carries a cool steadiness, tinged with fatigue.

Bon
“Oh yeah, that’s coming up soon, huh? And that big guy’s supposed to be back too, right?”
Bon narrows his eyes with a sly grin, glancing at Hakuya.

Hakuya
“Yeah, you’re well-informed.”
Hakuya nods briefly, his gaze drifting to the sunset sky.

Bon
“Hahaha, looking forward to it!”
Bon’s laughter echoes into the fading light.

Flashback

Genzo
“Hey, Seishiro! Quit clinging like that after a bath—it’s hot enough already!”

Seishiro
“But Father’s back is so big and wide—I love it!”

Back when I was little, Father’s wide back was my whole world,
and way cooler than it is now…
