I more or less had a rough idea of what I wanted in my head before starting. Started in my sketchbook (as messy as it might look) trying to pin down the hair style as that felt the MOST important for the silhouette, working in conjunction with the Kamina shades. Also experimented with a more stocky build but I drifted towards what the end result shows.

I really tried to keep the design relatively simple but with just enough going on to suggest that she doesn't quite live in a world like ours (Reminder: this is a fantasy/sci-fi setting, but the time period Carol is meant to belong in is one that resonates more as the setting for a slice-of-life narrative, so the outfit needed to feel somewhat grounded unlike characters like Aza or Ryz's outfits)

The rest kinda wrote itself and eventually clicked into the final design. Carol is meant to be more of a side character that serves to add a little flavor into a particular slice of the Rekindled anthology.
