Here instead of drawing, I want to share an idea: art as a visual language.
Have you ever felt lost about drawing? In an age where AI-generated content has fully integrated into our lives, what’s the meaning of still creating by hand?
Drawing, to me, is like speaking. It may not be structured as written words, share feelings and ideas directly through images. Long before writing, people used pictures to record and communicate. Our eyes take in images instantly, and our minds turn them into thoughts and imagination. That's visual language.
Over the years, I've often wondered why people enjoy my kind of works. depict history stuff with such style of female only characters, unreal proportions—yet many still find it historically respectful rather than misleading. I'm not very good with writing or speeches, but when I draw, people seem to understand me. One day I changed my perspective, then everything came clear to me.
Art styles are like dialects: we each prefer certain voices, yet any style can tell any story. Even if your skills are still rough, like speaking in a foreign language, you can still be understood. With discover yourself and practice, your own style will shine through, and it will connect with others.
How do artists face AI? I see AI like a fast-food central kitchen, quick, standard, convenient. It makes creating art easy, but it lacks individuality. If artists only got the cave vision to compete with AI on speed and quality, AI will hit us hard. Instead, I encourage to focus on ideas, expression, and unique experiences. Artists must find their own positioning these days.
So keep creating, and let your drawings be your very own language. For audiences, always to give your beloved artists fuels!
