Because of Milovana issues and hours in my day - Sadly this week comes with no significant Trials of the Succubi changes or improvements. This something I've tried to avoid and will NOT become the standard.

It just so happens that this is another week with TONS of updates that I've been working on the last few months all hitting at the same time. It honestly seems surreal to put all this out in a single week!

๐ฃ NEW Village Docks! A brand new area. There isn't much to do there yet but I did leave an exploit there that I'll only leave up this week. You simply have to go south once in the village to access it!

๐งโ๐คโ๐ง NEW Villagers! I started with the standard villager types in an asset pack. However, the females didn't quite match the style so I tried my hand at reworking one of them with my pixel art "abilities". The village doesn't seem quite so lonely anymore with over a dozen variations already included!

๐งค NEW Leather Undergarments! Male and female versions. Several chest sizes already included with the female one but these won't hold as much growth as some of the other garments historically have...
๐ NEW undergarments storage and wearing system! Finally a way to remove potentially unwanted underwear. However, I took this a step further to have a menu-less system to choose your favorites in your home.

๐ช NEW Body Hair Growth and ability to shave! For those who want to be full of fuz and everywhere in between we have options for you - Take a bath to both see the changes and adjust them!

๐ NEW Tentacle bindings added! Both with simple pixel art and 6 hand drawn variations to restrain your movement! I stayed up late to get these implemented but expect more "progression"๐ with them next week! (You may have seen enough hentai to know where this is headed...)
Music bug fixed and should play mostly fine now. So happy to get this one fixed, I delayed putting it out last week but burned out trying to chase this bug and gave up. (and here I am again losing sleep...)
Bathing will remove slimes that are stuck on you. (but hopefully not the living slimewear)
Changed how armor is tracked. I will be eventually moving everything over to the new system so that things will be more accurate and balance changes can be more quickly made.

My time on Patreon has been full of judgement calls and I know I go against the grain on plenty of things. I've constantly prioritized being able to put out content above nearly all else in hopes that it would grow the subscriber base to make this self sustaining.
This was the source of my decision to split Trials of the Succubi into four Chapters. I took the FAR shorter route than spending my time converting it to RenPy to be able to transition right into new creation. I was counting on Milovana preforming about how well it has for the past decade or so. However, this downturn is quite different.
Milovana Status:
Last month I had TONS of Milovana issues. Things took 3x as long to make because of slow servers, things not saving, servers going completely down, and sometimes even saves were reverted in a few cases. Bugs are never fun to fix, imagine doing it multiple times over again for each
Currently Milovana is up and actually functioning rather well on most days from what I can tell - only had a few hours this week that were spotty.
However for the past 2-3 weeks, no one has been able to add more pictures to their games. I've even tried both of my historic workarounds to this issue which failed.
What I was expecting was a true site shutdown which eventually gets the attention of the Admin and historically comes with a few site improvements. With the way things are going currently, I would almost put money on the fact that the Admin probably logged on once a quarter, saw things were still up and left.
Though anything could change and I could definitely be "wrong" again:
I don't see any change to this on the horizon. ๐ฃ๏ธ
How I've responded:
This has caused me to spend much of my time bug squashing (There have been far more bugs than expected with the TOTS chapters and Keystroke Experience system) and with Fall of Haven work.
I completely understand that in it's current state FOH appeals to probably only 5% of my subscriber base and in it's "finished state" would probably only appeal to about 30% of it. I have also been more excited to work on an actual game system for once because this has long been a dream of mine. While the potential monetary rewards for the Milovana games is lower than what I believe FOH to be (a gamble), I certainly don't want to put anything on complete hold without announcing such a change quite a bit before it happens.
What I've Decided:
Though the prospects of a year or so of work to JUST port it over if things go moderately well... I have decided to start playing with RenPy and see what I can make.
In the meantime I will still try to fix whatever bugs appear to the best of my ability but the Milovana status is outright preventing me from anything further.
What I've Done This Week:
I've had discussions with other Milo creators that are testing the waters but none have had a good time with it so far.
I finished the Keystroke Tier 2 Library reward but I still can't get it uploaded.
Outside of FOH art and programming meetings, things are still very much progressing.
Though previously things like parasite infections and other status affects progressed over time - I am re-hauling my entire time system now that I have a sleep system in place! (sleeping is the fastest way to progress time currently)
There is a new body hair system now that will grow over time and can be trimmed down in the bathtub to customize your look.

For any leather lovers out there, I've been sitting on my leather underwear art for almost a year now and I'm finally happy to finally start coding it in. As a reminder, it has a different asset for every single chest size and turned on variation! 
I can't promise any or all of these things but there is also the possibility to finally get the tentacles implemented in the game now as well! Hopefully by Friday they will do more than just whack you once. (I think we've all seen enough hentai to know where this is headed...)
However, I would count on at least 1 or 2 of these things to be delayed until next week.
What hopefully shouldn't be delayed as much is an extension of the village - come visit the Docks this Friday!
Many of these things have been worked on over the last month so it is forever exciting to have them materialize and go to be seen by the world!

While there were still lots of repairs that extended through this week, I was able to put in a TON of hours. My time was energized by the prospect of giving you all a Funday Friday that was back to a return to the old form after the recent delays.
However, this was yet another week were Milovana is not allowing any image uploads:
Read about it here and here. These are the worst kind of bugs because even if the Admin checked in - they would give things a quick glance, see things are still online and go back to their busy lives.
This bug essentially prevents me from making any new brand new content in Milovana. Therefore I tried to pivot into spending my time crushing bugs harder and putting out as much Fall of Haven content as I could possibly muster in a week.

๐ NEW Town Portal Mechanic! How do you get to the home village you ask? Why by teleporting there! For anyone who plays Diablo, I pretty much tried to copy the same style. This definitely required some coding expertise well beyond my abilities due to having to save.

๐ค NEW Sleeping! To test my pixel art abilities again I made sleeping animations for both male and female. The base code is there for me to build the time system and a way to regain lost willpower.
๐ NEW Bathing! Not all the art is here but I'm excited to continue building out the system and it's gameplay implications!

Revised Holy footwear art! Perspective and detailed cleaned up for what I consider a better appearance that I'm excited about.
Feet should hopefully not bug out of holy footwear any longer.
Prevented weapon from firing when starting a level with no enemies around.
Save states and loading further fixed to remember picture frames and details far better.
Palm trees perspective fixed. (You shouldn't be halfway in them anymore)
Several sounds adjusted like werewolf bite.
Fixed a bug causing female to always have a flat chest - A terrible bug that should have never been allowed!
Graves don't stop flight anymore.
Holy armor should not permanently shine anymore.
โ ๏ธ Unfortunately the town portal and save state changes have caused music to not play correctly and at the right time. I am hoping to hotfix this weekend but need coding help and am up far too late.

Keeping this one short - Unfortunately my week on the Milovana side has been rather unproductive. Not only has much of it spent on bug fixing things already fixed, but also making the new Chapter save system work again.

Furthermore, Milovana, while not crashed for once, has not allowed any images to be uploaded. This causes this Library experience reward to not be able to be uploaded unless something changes in the next two days.
The great news is not only was I able to work much of the weekend for once, but I and the programmer for hire have been knocking out some great new FOH systems!

Hopefully by this Friday you should be able to town portal back to a brand new area - the village and your home that you can enter!
Even though getting that last 10% of the bugs knocked out for it takes forever, simply having the ability feels like it opened up the game entirely for me. This was always planned to be a huge step needed to move closer to a more public demo eventually.
Hopefully the next few days go well. Despite the Milovana issues, I'm really pumped to be churning out tons of content again!

The reason this is a "fake" Funday Friday is that I was out of town until today. This meant this entire week's release was one day of work from me above and beyond what my programmer was able to fit in.
Still having a bit of Milovana issues so I'm kind of confused why this "crash" isn't following the previous trends.

We had 3 major repairs that all hit in the same month so things have been quite busy in personal life. We are also on the 3rd week of Milovana issues (and I doubt it will be the last). When it works it doesn't have any slowdown but there are intermittent times like now where virtually nothing can be accomplished.

As a reminder, there is a chance that it will go down completely. Then a certain amount of time would go by before the admin is aware and fixes it. Then there would be an additional chance of the webtease code getting updated to allow for teases as large as TOTS. I'm really curious to see how this all turns out this time.
I will be away from my computer from Sunday until next Friday so next week's update will be rather light. That being said, I expect that to be the final "rough week" in the foreseeable future and expect output to pick right back up.

๐พ NEW Save Mechanic! Several save slots allow your game to be saved upon entering each act and to return to later. This was a big undertaking that took the coder a little over two weeks to make possible and I'm so excited it's finally here!
Sadly this new feature, while incredibly impressive in my opinion, has opened things up to a few new bugs. Expect things like hearts and clothing to not track 100% accurately from act to act until I can get it cleaned up.

Sword attack cooldown lowered significantly to get into close combat more often.

๐ New stop art! I had another swing at pixel art to replace the old placeholder. I hope the intent is more clear while I try to explore other solutions.

Improvements to the way blue slime grows and fixed a bug where it won't.

Big changes to nearly every elemental weapon! Across the board, most of the non-holy weapons have been buffed and their usability improved.

Dungeon map wall perspectives done.

Haven trees shadows overhauled and hitboxes improved. You can now channel your inner 300 and fight in the shade!

While Milovana was better this week, it still had really long loading and is still slowing me down. Honestly while typing it out it got quite a bit worse and has taken me over 20 minutes to upload 20 pictures.
It also made the new TOTS Chapter content especially difficult because that required me to upload a lot, add a bunch of variables while shifting pages, and merge it all together.


I got used to looking at these screens quite a bit these last few weeks. Yes, I can hear the crowd clamoring for RenPy as I type this. That route is still a possibility but I really want to be sure before going down that route. The recent changes at itch.io and Steam also have me concerned about that being a viable path to monetization.
I was only able to work Tuesday through Friday this week so far and it has been quite busy with repairs. I've got about another 3 tough weeks or so coming up before things level out but I'm determined to work and deliver throughout!

Orc mage spikes now hit more reliably.
Player will not get knocked down when going to the next act and hopefully won't have new clothing torn during that transition. This was a huge bug that has haunted me for almost a year now! The fix is also a lot of work into the new save system being worked on.

โ๏ธ Dungeon entire map mostly overhauled! You can now stand behind the cell walls. This may sound pretty minor but it required the collision map to be redrawn (again...) and a bunch of sprite art work to be remade. It was a multi day project for the programmer by itself.
Shield enemies should now visually drop their shield again.
Girl gauntlets no longer cover up the staff.
Though none of it will be included in this week's release, I got a lot of work done on the home village maps and housing. This will be a huge step towards the "home base" of the player, being able to add the story in, as well as a TON of mechanics that required the day tracking system.

Monday and Tuesday were pretty pitiful days for the Milovana servers. Even when it was back, I had sporadic issues the rest of the week which certainly slowed me down. Even now trying to make changes takes far longer to save and will error out sometimes.
When it goes down, part of me hopes that it stays down to eventually get the attention of the admin again. Hopefully they would then make the rumored server changes that would make my life wonderful.
The "good" news is that not only did I have Fall of Haven that does not have these server problems, I just so happened to have tons of stuff that got ready for this week so it felt super productive.
I won't be able to work Saturday or Monday but already know much of what I want to work on!

๐งช NEW Slime Living Underwear! Just in time for the beach life the slimes are there to lend their... er... Services. Careful not to keep it on too long, it may make some adjustments.
Level 2 Fire barrier now deflects enemy haven projectiles.

Moose temple objects redrawn, waterfall moves now, added to perspective, and optimized. The map isn't done but this is a good first step.
Moose temple water can be walked on now.
Moose miniboss can be hurt again.
Getting knocked down won't cause get-up to be off the screen when you are on the edge anymore.
Removed one floating tattoo.
Getting hit shouldn't freeze your frames nearly as often.
Removing multiple bondage items should no longer freeze the last one where it stays forever. This one definitely required coding help from outside.
Touching enemies without sword now hurts again.
Gems shouldn't get stuck on impassible terrain or off of the map anymore.
Bridges should all work FAR better now thanks to the coding help.
Fixed several issues of disappearing clothes or body.
As always several other adjustments I've forgotten about - but this week I feel like I forgot even more.

I was planning to transfer over quite a few TOTS scenes to the chapters but having Milovana practically down for two days this week has certainly slowed me down. You should still expect the goodies but they got shifted later in the week for me to know which ones I can pull off.

It also affected things on the Keystroke side of things but I am back on track with new experience rewards. I was able to do all the photo editing while Milovana was down so at least things were able to move forward.

I'm finally working with the musician again so I'm excited to move that forward. Things are settling down with the other programmer so I'm glad that pace is picking up as well.
The newest level for Fall of Haven is nearly DONE and I'm excited to share it with you all! This level comes with FIVE new enemies and a few brand new mechanics! Also expect the timely debeu of the slime living underwear.
There are thousands of sprites that I worked on over the last 3 weeks that gave me a version of carpel tunnel I had to buy a vertical mouse for so hopefully it all pays off!
This should be one of the biggest FOH releases we've ever had with the way things lined up.

So much of this week was fixing things I didn't even know were broken ๐. I also spent much of it in meetings with contractors which is a good thing because I expect it to increase output the following month. I'm already excited about much of the new art that's come in.
The week also started off sick again but I'm back to 100% now. Still made the week more exhausting than I expected going into it though!
Things are going to have to really conspire against me to prevent next week from having some big releases - there are some real great things in process!

The dungeon shouldn't be able to trap you there forever anymore. (As thematic as it was, it was a game breaking bug haha)

New Swamp moose death burst animation upscaled! I had an artist do half of the upscaling and I finished it off on my own as yet another personal pixel project

It's not ready but I wanted to share the two weeks of work I've done on the collision map for the new ocean level. Every single square has to be placed by me one at a time to make the gameplay work right. (I'm honestly getting carpel tunnel from all this computer work time...)
Every yellow pixel is a place that can make footprints in the sand.
Every blue area is shallow water that slows down movement.
The orange are walls or cliffs.
The black is deep water that you must fly over.
The grey is stuff I haven't finished yet. (most of it is deep water)
Look forward to it next week! (There will be a LOT of new mechanics and enemies!)

Fourth of July is here! As is Trials of the Succubi tradition, anytime there is a in game holiday we have to celebrate it!
While I had more time than last week's travels, it still wasn't a full work week. Car trouble reared its head but I got it mostly taken care of. To add to the issues, having Milovana slow down/jam up/ and not save on a Funday Friday limits the joy I can bring to you all. I still think I put out a heck of a lot of joy though!

My work output is better but still not as improved as I expected from the previous week.
TOTS Chapter III appears to be an absolute bug magnet but I'm slowly working through some of the harder to fix issues.
๐ Because this is a week of one of the Trials of the Succubi holidays - I wanted to celebrate the Fourth of July with the following:
1. Releasing Trials of the Succubi Chapter IV! (Fourth - get it?!) Doing a chapter a week is a big undertaking for me but I was too excited to not pass up this opportunity to get it all out there and for the holiday.
2. By releasing a BRAND NEW Anissa scene that I am adding DIRECTLY to Chapter IV! I wouldn't normally do this but wanted to make the holiday a memorable one. There is a small chance I might have to release just the first part this week but it all depends on how quickly it all comes together.

3. For Keystroke - Also expect to have the fourth of July Bikini Season extended by a level 2 Beach experience reward and more!
4. I've also extended the Chapter III length by about 1/3rd and that is out NOW to every gold member!
I was hoping to have the new beach act for Fall of Haven out in time but I might miss that by two weeks or so. At least it will still be summer right? (as usual, I think I bit off way more than I can chew trying to make a big splash)
So in short, I was trying to make it historic but regardless of the many bugs and bumps, I can still release quite a bit!

Got back from travels on Monday evening so not only was I unable to work over the weekend, but was another workday short.
I'm still thrilled that I was able to knock out an entire TOTS chapter in the remaining days. Not to mention plenty of new content for everyone to enjoy!

Player movement further improved to not get caught on most obstacles. This required rewriting the whole movement system to a new simplified 8 way method.
Demonesses have better movement, AI, and polish. (Still not done though)

Demoness treasure chests will now open upon defeating Demoness. New animations added for them too! (My own work)

Depths act 4 collision map completely redrawn, Voidbringers, and Void Demonesses added.
Sounds added to Voidbringer and Void Demoness.
Ballista doesn't stutter frames anymore.
Z-ordering improvements but still not done. (How objects are drawn in vertical order for perspective)
Running out of stamina while flying over pits no longer soft locks.
Back dashing into pits now falls correctly.
Flying ending and back dash ending both stop movement now. It was suggested and I'm trying it out to see what others thing.
Probably at least 20 other adjustments that I lost track of.

Who knew Jury Duty could take so long...?
Sadly I was only able to fully work Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week and will be traveling until Tuesday. Regardless, I'm still excited to show you what I squeezed out in those 4 days of dedication!
Things are still not completely back in full operation from FOH and TOTS rebuilds but it is a breath of fresh air to have things back in a playable state. I'm excited to get them even further over the next few weeks! (After I get back in town on Tuesday that is... ๐)

๐ NEW Void Demoness enemy! These beings are protecting very valuable things within the depths. Are the rewards worth facing her spells and NSFW methods?

Cemetery act 2, dungeon, depths act 1, 2 AND 3 all have completely new collision maps! These all take loads of time but are necessary to have the player interact with all of those objects without getting stuck on them for a far smoother experience.
Orc shadows further fixed to not disappear from all orcs at once.
Fixed depths boss audio fade.
Tutorial book size returned to normal. (Still a WIP system though)
Back Dashing will now go over obstacles again.
Camera skip increased speed by 25%

The good news is that I was able to get more done than normal this weekend.
The bad news is that Jury Duty eliminated all of Monday (it hardly ever goes that long) and I will be traveling from Friday until next Tuesday. This leaves only Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to knock out a week of work.
So what can we expect?
๐ I've fixed and added quite a few things to TOTS Chapter I and II but I don't think I'll be able to finish Chapter III this week. Stay tuned for what I can finish.
โจ๏ธ Keystroke will have not only a new experience reward, but a brand new encounter! Foot lovers will come to the right zone and there will be a new "protection" mechanic.

๐ Work is still moving forward on Fall of Haven but because it is just me this week, there might not be an official release due to the number of things still disassembled.
That being said, I'm still trucking ahead redrawing every single map collision map to fit the new movement system. I only have about 2.5 left to go out of 14!

I first wanted to wish all Father's and those who wish to be a Father a fantastic Father's Day this Sunday!
After many hours of tinkering with the save code feature in Trials of the Succubi I think I have the code from Chapter I now working for Chapter II to continue where you left off!
This was all a lot of work - I didn't expect to be able to release yet another entire chapter (this one bigger than the first) in a single week but I did it! Chapter III could take 2 weeks for me to finish because the bugs grow on each release.
Fall of Haven still isn't in a great state due to the rebuild so I am relying on yet another tech demo to show that work is continuing.
I thought I would only have time for two bonus scenes this week in Keystroke but I pulled out THREE!

Player can now walk in shallow water! This causes slower movement but the new movement system is allowing this to happen far more seamlessly than I was able to attempt on my own,.

TOTS CHAPTERS:
For those curious about my plans and journey so far with the Trials of the Succubi Chapters:
I took in all of your feedback on RenPy and a few things stood out to me. WAY more people are eager to have me work on something that let's you play the new scenes instead of working on new scenes and having them in a previewer. The prospect of waiting for about a year of work before a port is finished made me pretty concerned. A comment from a Patron Christopher Hollier got me thinking until I saw a path forward.
I plan to make about 4 - 5 of them and work on them chronologically. Cutting them into smaller pieces allows me to actually edit them and make new content. Chapter I currently ends as soon as you reach upstairs. I'm hoping that the save code that's generated at the end can be used to start off where you left off once Chapter II is released.
(Not the best play experience but certainly better than the current previewer system right?)
My first plan was to delete pieces one by one from 4.0.2 after checking each one to see where it was in the order. However, a power outage caused me to lose about half a day worth of work. ๐ This is because the Milovana EOS has no way to save or autosave until it is a manageable size.
I then decided to organize everything so I could figure out what needs to be deleted ahead of time and do it all faster when I was ready. The organization took most of a week and a half from me and when it was cutting time I was met with this after the first third:

All was lost again. ๐ This meant that the Milovana system wouldn't have enough memory to handle all those cuts before it would get to a save-able system. I then figured out that I could use the magpie tool that Fapnip provided me all those years ago to instead merge in only the files that were needed in Chapter I. It wasn't a perfect system, but after working for the last two days on it - Chapter I is up and running! ๐
FOH Tech Demo:
The consultant and I have broken a lot of systems in the last week in order to rebuild them how I always envisioned. This made me hesitant to put any demo out the last few weeks due to the experience feeling worse than FOH 0.6.6.
That being said, I still wanted everyone to get a glimpse of what we've been working on with the new movement system! I hope you will all agree that it is a smoother and more initiative replacement!
If you want a more "complete" playthrough, I suggest sticking to the FOH 0.6.6 version from a few weeks ago.

Well I'm back in nearly full capacity. Not only am I hitting all three games pretty hard, but the contractor/consultant is also putting in a lot of hours! As a reminder, they were not part of my budget. I still feel like they are necessary to get all this content out to everyone in a timely manner and will get me through those issues I simply don't know how to circumvent. I'm hoping this gamble will pay off in the long term.


โจ๏ธ Keystroke will get two more LVL 2 experience rewards, one of which will star a commonly requested star!
๐บ Fall of Haven should return with a demo this week but it will be mostly a small demonstration of the new movement mechanic that should hopefully feel far smoother. The player should no longer get "stuck" on solid objects!
I have attached an image of the new grid system we are utilizing to hopefully make all the rules more uniform and to run more optimized. Redoing every single map is time and bug intensive.
This is one example of a mechanic that wouldn't be possible without outside paid help. I'm so looking forward to gradually knocking out the next ones on the list!
It won't be fully back on Friday, but at least I'll have a little "tech demo" of sorts to show what's been done these last 3 weeks.
๐Trials of the Succubi Chapter page organization is mostly done now! (probably took me 25 hours alone...) That means I'm pretty optimistic about getting version 1 of TOTS Chapter I out to all of you by this Funday Friday. It will likely be buggy but forward is good!
There were a few questions posed about it but I'm hoping to have TOTS split into about 4 Chapters based on chronological order. Chapter I is expected to end before getting into the second story of the house. (But that could change when I get back to cutting)
I'm hoping that we can use the save codes from the end of one Chapter to resume in the next Chapter so fingers crossed!
The interweaving of scenes and how much "structure" exists makes this cut more difficult than one would think which is why I spent so much time organizing it. I'll know much better when I'm done cutting out the expected sections if it "saves" enough space to actually edit which is the real goal for playing new content and adding in the future.

School is out for the kiddos and it has had a greater impact on us than expected. Furthermore, the convention this weekend and Monday took away what would normally be working time. However, I hit the ground running as soon as I was back and I'm pushing through the limitations.
I was only thinking I could make 3 bonus Keystroke scenes this week but I squeezed out FIVE! This means every zone now has at least one experience reward! I will be building up the rest of the experience rewards from there but this is a big step for me to get Keystroke to the next level (literally).
In speaking of these roadblocks, I see many of them as only being temporary and I expect next week to be a return to form! Please be patient with me while I push through.

Due to the consultant having to take a break and core systems like movement, solid objects, and enemy behavior being in mid rebuild, I cannot make a playable Fall of Haven demo for the second week in a row.

I think I've remade nearly everything lost in the GitHub crash. I have been still working on the project and new content. While my work is a bit slower due to working around the efforts of someone else, things are still definitely moving forward!
๐ The Good TOTS News:
I've decided that the best path forward in the short term is to make at least four Trials of the Succubi Chapters split chronologically. With the way that the tease is set up, each chapter will be more than 25% of the full size of 4.02 (The current limit for saving size). However, I expect it to be low enough to allow merging and an actual playable experience!
Renpy is still a possibility, but if I can knock out all chapters in 1 to 2 months, I found that the much better path forward in the short term. It also lets me jump back into new creation of scenes that will be fully playable the fastest.
๐ The Bad TOTS News:
Due to my time redoing the Trials of the Succubi Chapter 1 and setting organization for it, there will be no new TOTS content this week. I am fairly hopeful I can get Chapter I up and running by next Funday Friday though!

To put things into perspective, I've decided to go through every page alphabetically. This is yet another reminder of how absolutely massive TOTS really is because this screenshot are all the pages before you hit the first B page.
Furthermore, after hours of "chopping away" with my initial, pre-organization method, EOS cannot save until the file size is small enough again. A single power outage undid an afternoon of work which is why I want to organize and plan everything to be able to move far more swiftly when I'm ready and get around the saving limitation.
I am only about 30% done with this organization but I'm putting every spare minute into it!

Hello everyone - what a different week this was! Due to all the fluctuations and changes that have been going on this week's new content is cut a bit short. I'm still determining the best path forward for Trials of the Succubi but I have heard your discussions loud and clear! (Go add to them here!)
I've been and will remain at a convention until Tuesday the 27th so expect that to inhibit the workflow as well. (I can still respond to messages)
While I'm happy to have Github up and running now AND a consultant working nearly full time, it corrupted the file so I lost at least a day of work on it. I and the new consultant spent a good chunk of the weekend to get things moving again. I still haven't even been able to fully remake everything lost.

Ren'Py
I'll admit, there was much more clamoring for Ren'Py than I expected. However, I wanted to be sure all of those supporters understood how big of an undertaking it would be.
Hypothetical Timeline
Basically, at my current pace, I would expect the conversion of Trials of the Succubi version 4.0.2 to Ren'Py to take about 6 months. Some of that would be learning the new program, and asking other coders how to pull off my current mechanics.
However, the VAST majority of the time I'm expecting would be to migrate all the pictures and galleries over. Many of the pictures would need to be found on the internet again (like my gifs) and I would want to edit most of them to remove watermarks.
I haven't started this process yet so it's difficult to get a good estimate and my past estimates have always been about 2x more optimistic than they should be. (I also have no idea how to estimate bugs that will come up)
Other Considerations
Quote from a coder regarding picture loading:
"In ren'py you'll have to load them as backgrounds and unload the background on each change else it will eat up RAM and slow down
Also, Ren'Py has that nasty property of showing images as blocks and only rendering them clear after complete loading.
Pre-loading needs to be done manually then"
Virtually any work I do to port will not be able to be transferred back to Milovana if their servers change. However, I would keep the community updated in how far I get along with the commentary you've come to expect.
I could either pause the porting to make new TOTS commissions or pause TOTS commissions. After hypothetical Ren'Py completion, who knows if I'll have the energy or desire to continue making new scenes either.
A few have volunteered to help but I'll need to figure out how to utilize such aid beyond coding help.

The other option is to continue doing what I've been doing - Making new content and putting them in previewers. If Milovana or TeaseHub changes finish, I will be best positioned to quickly implement all the new scenes and content I've created.

Thankfully I was able to pull off FOUR new experience rewards for Keystroke in a week! (I'm getting better!)
Due to many of the responses on the Trials of the Succubi issue explained here (Thank you all!), I am considering the Renpy route much more heavily . However, I think I'll need to make a poll soon for those fans to really know what they have to trade for the chance at a port of that magnitude.
I was a bit sick this week but it didn't really slow me down much. In other news, I've brought in yet another consultant for Fall of Haven bug squashing and finally learned Github to manage it!

Alarune now stops moving when these animations start. She has to concentrate after all!
๐ซ NEW Goblin Boss stuns! Chipping away at the large health pool will now knock them down to get some extra cheap shots in there.
Male holy armor should now show up again. I've lost count of how many bugs this has had haha...

Hello everyone! Due to more and more questions being asked, I thought it would be best to make a more official announcement about the expected future of Trials of the Succubi.
Milovana was never made with teases even half the size of Trials of the Succubi in mind. Despite using years of workarounds on my own and with really clever coders to expand this, I have been out of room for months now.
This is why I have been adding new scenes to the previewer and have not been able to expand TOTS beyond Version 4.0.2.
For me to make the full playable tease larger either:
1. Milovana needs to change their system. The admin has said said they want to make this change and already put in quite a bit of work on this front. However they will be too busy to implement these changes for the foreseeable future. Usually Milovana crashes get their attention again where they implement new changes. In my mind the next crash brings this as a possibility. (On average it seems to go down about once a year)
OR
2. I move things to a new engine. Over the years I have considered a few new engines the experience would be best on. I never liked the HTML engines so it would probably be Renpy.

I would love being able to use ctrl to skip dialog and having save states.
However, a "port" would probably take me at least a month of full dedicated time alone minimum AFTER learning the engine AND not considering bugs. A big part of this reason would be I never organized all the image galleries with a transition like this in mind. I'm pretty sure I'm missing a few galleries. I'm not even sure what organizational method I would use to transfer everything over.
TeaseHub
The other new engine option is TeaseHub which is being developed solo by Teddibaer. I did a lot of testing for them and it honestly felt like their engine was already 98% of the way to mimicking a complete 1:1 Milovana experience quirks and all which was goal #1. The reason this is so important is because I could "transfer" everything over in mere minutes and make things as big as I wanted. I also wouldn't need to learn a new system!

Next, goal #2 was to allow games made in TeaseHub to transfer over to Milovana publication when needed. This would allow for an editor that wouldn't crash with Milovana and have a lot better functionality for creation. (Like copy pasting groups of information and bug diagnostics)
Goal #3 was to add optional functionality beyond what Milovana allows like holding down ctrl to skip dialog, having save states, potential for a Keystroke keyboard only version, actual gifs, and much more!
Sadly the creator has put it on hold and hasn't been communicating even though they were SO CLOSE to finishing goal #1 in my opinion.
OR
3. I split TOTS into four separate Holiday parts. This actually is way more labor and bug intensive than it might seem to be. One of the reasons I put so much time into TOTS to begin with was to really see how large I could make it. This split would be pretty counterintuitive to this goal. Furthermore, if it ever came time for any re-combination, it would be labor intensive yet again. I'm not fully decided but I do not currently want to pursue this option. (Not to mention each "part" would be around 50% of the total file size anyways due to weaving and overlap)
Conclusion: Basically I can't predict what will happen first at this point. In order to be most efficient of my time, I am counting on either Milovana makes the server change or TeaseHub returns. In the meantime I will continue to add to the Gold and Early Access previewers and hope you all stay patient with me on the journey. I'd love to hear any and all thoughts on the situation, perhaps you can convince me of something!
TLDR: I am still unsure of when the fully playable Trials of the Succubi will be possible. In the meantime I will continue to add new scenes to the previewer. Hopefully these will be able to be fully added to the full game one day but I still cannot predict when this would be.

๐น NEW Orc Stronghold Act! The orcs and goblins have been busy fortifying their position and none have been able to penetrate it so far. I wonder how an angel will fare? Three weeks in the making!

๐น NEW Goblin Boss! I don't like advertising what any boss looks like in order to not spoil it. This is the fastest boss yet along with 16 animations. These are always brutal to code so hope you enjoy it!
Unpassable wall code completely overhauled. When I removed pathfinding from player movement months ago I didn't realize that it allowed you to pass through impassible things. (Like some dungeon walls and boss areas) This issue alone took me about 7 hours to make players not stuck forever and I'm still not thrilled with the result.
Female Goblins can jump now.
Lots of sounds added to Female Goblin but still no death sound.
In an obvious oversight, the ballista weapon now damages player.
Ballista cleaned up and improved in at least 7 other ways but it's still not quite the way I want.
Many more sounds now will properly mute.
Act transition music is back. The code was always there but in the wrong order...
Fixed a knockdown bug that could cause it to not progress past tutorial.

I was able to work some this weekend again and was able to have about 10 hours to work straight uninterrupted yesterday. Things are looking good this week!
Time to share what I've been cooking up!
I thought making 3 additions to Keystroke last week was impressive so imagine FOUR! Not only does Aaliyah, a minor crowd favorite from Neon Nights return, but we have the very first level 2 experience reward!
I'm also excited to announce that these aren't just things I'm hoping to release this Funday Friday, they are done already!
Shifting gears to the content that I'm still working on, Trials of the Succubi gets even more Gabbie Corruption that branches off from the recent commission! Latex lovers can rejoice (along with the foot fans of the world) as she embraces her new world and desires.
I'm shooting to have the entire chunk finished this week but I'll at least release a partial if I have to.

The Orc Fortress work on Fall of Haven continues! This act is just as complicated if not more so to code than the dungeon was so it is taking me forever. It's also looking like a new enemy type code and art won't be done in time this week but I'll be happy to add it when it's ready.
Sadly, on Monday I discovered that when I changed the movement from pathfinding about 2 months ago, that it caused impassible walls to be passible. After hours and hours of trying to fix it I have a spaghetti code version up and running but it still is flawed.
Considering these new orc walls and barriers need to utilize this code, it has made their implementation quite difficult. I wanted to share a quick step by step of what I was trying to pull off.
1. Player is in front of wall. Player drawn in front of wall perspective. It should stop player from flying onto the wall.
2. Player goes through the gatehouse/trapdoor and appears on top of the wall.
3. Player drawn in front of wall perspective. Can fly down past the wall barrier now.
4. Player now down and wall drawn in front of player for perspective (along with everything else attached to the wall like flags, trapdoors, enemies, etc.). Player cannot fly back onto the wall.

This is the current code to do just what I described without lagging everything after tons of failed attempts. This is just one example I wanted to share of the kind of stuff you never think of when you have these levels planned!
I could make a ton of impassible terrain to not have to bother with perspective shifts but I wanted the world to feel far more real and really open up the space for exploration instead of running into invisible walls.
I'm pressing on and am eager to get the first version out to everyone. There should even be a new boss should you complete it!

Working over the weekend made a world of difference! Combined with the fact that it wasn't back to back events left me feeling like I had some breathing room for once and I believe I was able to put out even more content.
I got pretty far in Fall of Haven's Orc Fortress and even thought there would be a chance I could release the initial version this week. However, I think it best to not push it out partially and wait for next week. Instead, I'm putting in a few of the new elements in the first act as a teaser.
Much of our Trials of the Succubi releases have the common thread of being commissions about corruption so plenty to look forward to!

๐น NEW Orc Ballista! I commissioned a siege weapon hoping to give the artist an easier job and to make it easier to code. Thanks to elevation and the 45 degree viewing perspective, this ended up being one of my most difficult threats to code!
I made a pseudo physics system for it's destruction that I hope you all enjoy. Fires both damaging bolts and restraining bolases. Will still need some tweaking that I can hopefully finish by the time the Orc Fortress is live.

๐ฅ NEW Female Goblin! She's not much to look at and less of a threat up close compared to the male goblins. However, she knows a bit of rudimentary fire magic to even things out.

๐ข NEW Green Orc! Slightly weaker than their red brethren but come with a different movement set to figure out. Try not to get too close!
๐ธ NEW Alarune Male NSFW attack! Can't exactly show it here but I've been sitting on the artist's base of this one for a while. I finally took things into my own hands to combine multiple animations together on my own to pull it off mechanically in game.
Escaping from it also turned out to be quite difficult coding wise but it mostly works! (Female player NSFW animation still to come)
Venom weapon now deals roughly 50% more damage.
Some shadows cleaned up, especially the slimes.
Female chest bindings no longer grow bigger than chest for a much better fit.

After being able to finally work this weekend, we are back this week and back on pace!

Trials of the Succubi has the Gabbie corruption continuation commission starting to wrap up along with other alliteration!
The commissioner seems pleased so far and I'm still building on it to make it something special. Expect a fairly complex scene and a smaller offshoot addition this Funday Friday!

Keystroke continues the addition of the experience galleries with not one, not two, but THREE new additions!
While making them I wondered how cool it would be to have separate ones for morality levels in the Temple so it gets a double! To add to the pile, the teachers lounge has set out it's own experience reward for the most studious among us!

Fall of Haven still has the Orc Stronghold in process but I got really far! I could probably release a partial of it this week but I might also wait and finish more of the pieces.
I'm less certain for how much I'll be able to pull off but good things are in the pipeline and I'm excited to be back on the creation front!

While I wasn't able to work much last weekend, it's nice to finally have a week without something big happening that knocks out a day or two.
Because of a return to the old workflow I decided to hit Keystroke hard by not only re-Fresh the experience gallery system, but also make a new encounter, and a new experience reward!
The new commissioned Trials of the Succubi Gabbie corruption continuation is in full swing but I had a tough choice today: Release the first complex scene incomplete or wait until next week. I've made the choice to wait until next week.
I've also put lots of work into the next act of Fall of Haven, the Orc Fortress, but sadly it won't be done for another few weeks or so. It will bring a lot of new opponents, art, and mechanics and it's all progressing so far!
A few of you played the Easter Egg hunt but I'll be happy to leave it open for one more week.
So far the record is 24 eggs found for 24 ๐งฉ!

Started work on optimizing events and replacing them with functions to save on CPU load. The goal is that you should notice nothing but I bet bugs will come out of it.
Some layers fixed for pause menu and leveling up holy weapon.
Candles in Depths collisions improved and draw order actually works now.
Draw order (to give a better perspective) improved on Crystal Orcs, slimelings, and Spires.
Crystal Orc weapon projectile now mirrors with orc and looks slightly better being fired.
Pink aura from arousal should now not be able to stick around past it's welcome.
Removed holy underwear duplicates.
Orc corrupters should be quite a bit more mobile now instead of waddling in place as they often did.

Though it was Easter weekend and I couldn't work much with extended family over, I wanted to share some of what I've been cooking up this week!
To kick things off - after receiving a few comments and putting some thought into it, I've decided to create a hybrid text/picture system with the new Keystroke experience galleries.
Expect not only a revamped Princess Zone gallery, but a Schoolyard one as well!

If that wasn't enough for the Keystroke fans of the world, expect the newest, thinnest, and smallest chested addition to Keystroke yet with a new Schoolyard encounter!

My plan after the Easter content was to make the continuation of Gabbie's corruption storyline (Someone requested it as a commission). Now that Easter has passed I've started on it! I haven't gotten far yet so I don't know how much I'll be able to deliver on Funday Friday but expect the return of our naive (soon to be not so much) angel!
Fall of Haven content will depend on what art I get in and what things I finish. I've started the new Orc Fortress level but it won't be ready for this weekend. (It will probably take me 3 weeks actually)
