Patreon's REVERTED Fee Changes!
Added 2017-12-14 11:00:20 +0000 UTCYou can read their apologetic blog post here.
Last week I was forced to overhaul this Patreon campaign in response to some apocalyptic fee changes announced by Patreon. You can read my breakdown here.
Today I have great news: they've changed their minds!
We have been heard, and our feedback has won out in our favor. We can now get back to status quo, and hopefully this speed bump will quickly become a bad memory.
Patreon still plans on making changes to their fees, but they have acknowledged the importance of the $1-2 pledge and promises to be more transparent and flexible in the future.
This is great news, and I'm optimistic again about our future here.

The only downside is that all of you kind folks who converted their pledges to a monthly-appropriate amount need to convert right back. I've sent each of you a message about this. Sorry for the trouble!
I'll be posting this month's maps as regular posts until everyone has had a chance to change their pledges back. I'll convert the map releases to paid posts at the end of the month.
I'm still looking to implement an on-site way to accept subscriptions/pledges. I will keep you all up to date on that!

Just saw Phil Defranco's post about the proposed changes this morning. I'm glad patreon listened to it's creators and scrapped the changes. With the way the economy is it's challenging for everyone to stay afloat, but ultimately those changes would have lost revenue for you which in turn would have lost business for patreon, and that kind of policy makes no sense.

2017-12-14 16:16:46 +0000 UTCIt's good to be back! I'm glad patreon heard the community (or at least freaked out when they looked at their graphs over the last week) and restored some trust back with its creators and patreons.
