CINDER WOLF - Neck Support Removal

Hi Cinders!

This is a video for the Articulating Cinder Wolf Model from the original post: HERE

Please see how the Cinder Wolf has been pre-supported under the neck. Do NOT add any supports!  After printing, simply break away the supports on the outer part of the neck AND the tiny ball supports under the ring of the neck to get full range of neck movement!

Thank you all! :)

i have had trouble with the neck support, the part that meets the neck didnt print smoothy and as left wispy bits of filament

I have the same problem with the wolf's left jaw, very repeatable. Not sure why the bubbly support is there, it doesn't touch the underside of the wolf's head.

My first one turned out perfect, printed with silver silk PLA. I also made one at 60% with the same filament which turned out perfect as well! Then I tried again yesterday with a different filament at 100% and the jaw on the right side failed and broke off. I used Stronghero galaxy glitter black… his head still turned out ok, he’s just missing his lower right jaw. Printed with my Sovol svo4.

Printed perfect the first try with Creality K1 with no supports and at 100% with Creality Hyper filament. I have had issues when trying to print out anything with silk two tone PLA. I tried slowing everything down and maybe I missed something. Anyone have configs for other filament types to share?

Just a friendly public service announcement here. Regarding those flush cutters, I have seen posts on forums and social media about them shattering and sending shards or metal flying when cutting thick supports. They can be a potential serious eye injury. I'm not saying I haven't done it myself, but try not to these days. I do keep a set by my printer for cutting filament and ngl they are pretty good at getting into tight spaces. But I put together a kit with all my post processing tools: files, sanding sticks, assorted pliers, assorted wire cutters, exactos and utility razor knife, even a leather man tool, etc. Happy printing, happy holidays, and be safe out there in 3D land y'all :) !!!!!! Edit: fixed some spelling and grammar, probably missed some..

I had unsuccessful prints on all eight of my printers.

Kimberlee A Crispin

Printed perfectly at 100% on Anker M5

I'm also having issues printing the head at 100% and 60% on the P1S. The rest of the print is fine.

Patrick Barton

I am also having issues with this printing at 100%. It fails at the supports and then turns to spaghetti. I'm going to add some more support when I print again. I now have 2 headless wolfs. Printing on a Bambu X1C.

I am having the same print issues (@ 60%) with the new Bambu A1 Mini. I also woke up to headless wolves. The support fell out and the head started wobbling, but I think that may have more to do with the speed of this printer, and the vibration it produces. I am new to Bambu, but it is twice the speed of my other printers, so there is a learning curve there for me. Even when slowed down, it is insanely fast, so rather than go slower, I opted to put 2 small tree supports in, supporting the built-in support, and that seems to do the trick, without actually touching or marring the surface of the model, and without having to slow my machine down. It adds a very negligible amount of time (less than slowing the print) and doesn't use much material. I'm loving the file, thank you for another great one. I have a child who loves wolves, and I just happened to buy the 2-tone black/red polyterra on Black Friday, so these will be stocking stuffers for Christmas. Thanks again for another beautiful model! I have been buying what I could the last couple of years to be printed as gifts for my many children/nieces/nephews, and I am so very excited to finally be a patron!

Paradoxal_Dinosaur

What scissors did you use?

Justin Pirnay

Failed 4 mins to completion on two prints. I added a tree support the second time too! X1C

might i make a suggestion to lengthen the nose on the wolf. wolves have longer noses.(snouts)

Michael Shoestock

These look amazing!

For those of you having issues, the first piece of advice I can give you is to please go slower. This wolf has a lot of tough overhangs at the neck area and if you are going too fast you will very likely knock the pieces off. Another important thing to overhangs is flow. If you have not tuned your flow or your pressure advance for those people out there on the bambus, you might need to do so

My oldest is a fan of The Witcher, back when it was the books, and then the game, and we're both fans of the show. So of course I just gave him one printed in silky white :D (80%, printed great!)

Thea UrsaLunar

Yeah, I put on two @ 60% before I went to bed and woke up to find headless wolves in a spaghetti cloud. Lol. P1P

Marcus F

i've tried 2 times and the lower jaw where the support is don't print properly on the Bambu P1S.
