Hello my Sweethearts!
Today I want to discuss with all of you one very important topic. As title says, I want to try out streaming. If you read my previous post, you know that I was trying something new to me. This is one of the few things.
I held two small stream sessions on Twitch, playing Final Fantasy 14. Aaand it felt strange. Actually, it was very hard.
I always wanted to held live broadcasting, but didn't have enough courage. "Maybe one day", "I always can do it" and etc. That kind of thoughts were in my head, but with zero attempts.
Some of you might know it, but veeery long time ago I promised to make video QA answering questions from you. But, I ended up not be able to gather myself. Too introverted. Even with motivation and advices from Tao. The fact that we haven't done it yet to this day makes both of us upset. So, streaming seemed like one of the option, which will help to fullfill this promise to you.
Recently, I outloud shared with Tao, that I finally have enough courage to stream. But, want to try it playing new FF14 update, called "Endwalker".
"Great! I'll organize everything. But, if we do it, we do it with serious intentions. You should practice" - what he said.
So, I held two practice stream sessions on twitch. I know, that one of my friend here is active streamer. MAD RESPECT, my friend. For few hours I was sitting still, playing in full silence, not knowing how to act and what to say to strangers stopping by time to time.
Funny thing, I wanted to try speaking in english, but eventually forgot about it and just spoke in russian, haha. ) To my biggest relief, those who came were mainly russians.
At one point I had about 10 watchers! As they said, it was small raid from some bigger streamer, haha. And I'm glad and thankful they were active asking questions and just casually talking in chat.
I was trilled. "What to say? How to say? How do I look?"
Even Tao's presence, who were near checking the stream, didn't help.
Somehow I felt at ease making my first steps with complete strangers. Tao suggested to start with people, who know us - with you. But I felt I would be even more nervous. "What, if people who have certain image of me from the posts, will be dissappointed seeing and listening to me "live"?" -that's how I felt.
Eventually, after many words of encouragement, long motivational speeches, he helped me to go throu this phase.
My thoughts and results.
First: I think, I'm not suited for it. Not that type. But, I do realized, that with a lot of practice eventually I might get used to it. But, it doesn't solve the problem of being entertaining and interesting.
Tao suggested to use Gimmick, but I find it too complicated. I heard stories of people loosing their minds constantly switching between personalities. And I can't call myself mentally buff person or thick-skinned.
Second: What is the goal? Why we should do it and why anybody should watch us? Doing something without goal feels like being disrespectful to people, who is serious with it.
We decided, that streaming is opportunity to show you, who support us, what kind of people we are. Tell stories, play with you (only FF14 will be boring) and share plans. And promote Dzikan photography to newcomers, telling who we are.
We won't do it often. If we'll manage to have 2 sessions in month, it would be already great fit. We are creating photography, so there is hardly any spare time.
We are planning to make our first official stream on the 3rd of December. Acording to developers, early access will start at 9 GMT or 4 p.m. in my local time, which is also the starting time to us.
I, personally, consider this stream my first serious one and I'll be happy to see you there.
I'll make announcement of exact time later.
Aside from "all can see" livestream, we will hold patron-only stream. That's why I wanted to ask you to share, what time, in your opinion, will be good to all of us here be able to see it. Technically, we have friends from all over the world.
To be precise, it is about +6 hours between us and Europe (12 a.m. in EU, 6 p.m. here), and 12+ hours between US (12 a.m. US, 12 p.m here).
Also, I wanted to ask you on what platform to hold it? I heard, that some creators make closed-streams in discord. Patreon itself suggest youtube, and two others but for money.
What are yout thoughts about it all?
Hope, this news will be intersting to you. And you'll find time to share your opinion. )
Have a great day!
P.S.: This is how, my beginner set up looks, haha )
