Grey's Anatomy S03E10 - Don't Stand So Close To Me FULL REACTION

Comments

I posted a comment on the last video, but I guess I did it a bit too late, so I will just repost it if you don’t mind. Just catching up, but in the reaction to episode 7 during the comment reading, you said The 100 Season 6 and 7 don't exist to you. I genuinely think Season 6 was a great season and was only let down by how much Season 7 messed up towards the end. Even Season 7 had a couple of standout episodes that could be high up in my rankings (the episode with Diyoza and Octavia raising Hope, the prequel backdoor pilot). If Season 7 was able to end very well without butchering some characters, then it wouldn’t be looked at as bad. I even think you enjoyed Season 6 in your reactions. I'm still hoping for a sequel series that retcons the ending or the prequel to come back. I miss The 100 so much. When it was mentioned earlier that the actor for Burke is insanely homophobic, just think about the actor of George, who is gay in real life. I do think it's right to tell the dad that he's going to be a dad. That's his DNA creating life, and I feel like you should always tell them when it's literally a part of them. Obviously, him being a part of the child's life is up to what they decide, but I feel like the dad should always be told. It hurts me that my two favorite characters in the show are your two most hated 😅 (George and Izzie). They have a lot of flaws and make many mistakes, but I see that there is good inside them, and I still love them despite the flaws. This episode is a classic example of what I was talking about several episodes ago about this show making characters do things that could "ruin" their characters. This show is literally just a soap opera in a hospital. That's why I can never take anything they do seriously because this time it's Burke and Cristina, and next time it could be Meredith or Derek or Alex or Sloan, etc. You get the picture. It's like they say, "What's the most drama we can create with these characters," and do it no matter the character. I know this doesn’t work for everybody, but for me, I just let all the drama happen and enjoy it without thinking of the real world or what it means for the characters because the characters will probably be better in a few episodes anyways. I enjoyed this episode even if it had a lot of ethical issues. Hell, the Denny plot is one of my favorite arcs of the show. Yes, it's completely morally and ethically wrong, but it gave us nice drama and "WTF are they gonna do, and how are they gonna get out of this" feelings. Sorry for the tangent I went on about random things. Never know when to shut up sometimes lol.

You want to know what would really be creepy....cojoined twin zombies!!!!! sorry I liked this episode. Meredith's mom seems so nice. So Meredith has two step sisters then, Molly and the one her dad was with. So they could be a good size family, but I don't think Meredith can forgive her dad enough for abandoning her to let that happen. Keeping George away is tricky, he is family after all. If his dad didn't survive the surgery and he was prevented from talking to his dad one last time. That would be bad. And besides being a pain in the ass, he isn't breaking any rules. I mean, his brothers are a bigger pain in the ass yet no one is banning them from their father. Interesting how Bailey blames herself for both Denny and the Burke/Cristina hiding his hand tremors. Since she trained both Cristina and Izzy. And it's true she does bare some small responsibility as their mentor. But I liked how Richard handled that. You teach them and like children, sometimes they listen and sometimes they don't. You can only do your best. I liked the closeness between Meredith and Cristina. OK here is a question, you say George had no right to ne angry at Callie, because they were on a break. Just out of curiosity, did you feel the same way about Rachel and Ross. Was she wrong for being angry at him? No right or wrong answer here just curious if you felt there was a difference. So we have 2 of them with family in the hospital that had surgeries. Meredith and her "niece". And George with his dad. # if you count Cristina and her Burke.

As someone who has been caring for my mum since i was a child i understand so much what Meredith is going through with her mum which makes it hard for me to watch sometimes. Poor Bailey, she was made to feel like she had no respect, that people were doubting her skills, and now nothing happened, that cannot be easy. George is so angry at everyone, so are justified, but some are not. You're right, Meredith could have Susan and he half sister as family, but she refuses to. I do like that Mark and Derek had an almost joking moment in the OR, it was nice to see.

God Richard’s tendency to just excuse everything for “the sake of the hospital” or whatever is quite annoying. Both the Izzie situation and now this with Burke. I understand he has a hospital to run and doesn’t want to lose his best surgeons but god everyone in this hospital makes the worst decisions at all times! I don’t know why Hahn is in red. Maybe because she technically works for the other hospital still and is just a visiting doctor here? Maybe red is their colour in that hospital and she just continues wearing it. That’s all i’ve got! George has every right to be in the room with his Dad, but he doesn’t have the right to be a doctor when he’s in that room. That’s just a massive conflict of interest to let him be a doctor with his dad. Same with Meredith. Addison is right when she said Meredith shouldn’t have been in that surgery. I know she doesn’t see them as family and i relate to that hard, but there is a personal connection there whether it’s positive, negative or neutral and it’s a risk that just shouldn’t be taken. I love how just pissed off Bailey is this episode. Even though she’s just a resident she’s not shy about telling her “superiors” what she thinks and i really love that. I also love that when she does that she’s not treated by the others as a petulant child or something, which is quite common on TV in these situations. At the end of the day she’s correct and could out argue any of them… I love that we get these little moments of Derek and Mark working together and a glimpse of what their relationship used to be like. Hahn and Cristina working together is really nice to see. That’s a healthy mentor/student relationship. Allowing her to do more than an intern would usually do when it’s necessary to save the patient, but being there to supervise properly and most importantly to be able to step in if needed which is where Burke was most in the wrong. It’s heartbreaking to see Bailey say she’s the common thread. The real common thread is Burke and i will die on this hill! He was Denny’s doctor and didn’t act when it was obvious Izzie was doing something suspicious and shady and he was the one in the wrong here. George was called 007 early on and it was a nickname that stuck for a few episodes in season 1 or so. He almost killed someone when he froze in his first surgery and got the nickname 007 (license to kill). Meredith was the one that stuck up for him back then saying they have to stick together etc. The actor who plays George’s dad was previously seen on SG1. He played the version of Anubis that Daniel met in the ancient diner. He went as “Jim” before revealing who he really was. Maybe the first (?) but definitely not the last actor to be in both franchises! Two franchises that go through a lot of guest stars just because of the nature of visiting other planets every week/having new patients every week!
