I doubted for a while when I was drawing the script about this page, because I originally wanted to show Nova making traps and planning her attack, but explain something like that would have taken 2 pages or if I was very good resuming, probably just 1.

still, the main goal of this comic is to tell an effective story, as quick as I could. originally my goal was being able to tell this in 10 pages... then realized it was impossible and thought that maybe 15, it turned out longer than that, but still relatively short.

I used to be able to write good episodes of 20-22 pages long back in the day, I'm not sure why was that, now everything I start writing tends to get longer and longer, best examples are the latest Derideal episodes of legacy, and the latest episodes of XEN, ep3 got like 60 pages, and all the rest about 40? in all honesty, EP4 and 5 were just one originally, but it was a long episode of 80 pages or so, I just got too carried away.

but heck, getting back to this page, this was my way to resume and tell that Nova made a plan that was "set" off panel, whatever it is, she is already trying to do it, we'll see how it develops.

using a flashlight or laser pointer to annoy the dog guard that was sleeping was sort of the most silent way I thought to make him walk away, as the actual plan of distractions is about to start.

Nova isn't exactly a direct fighter, she could handle herself with firearms and her kicks would certainly cause some damage, but she's almost always outmatched by other Xeno species in melee... it is also very reckless of her to go against a mixed pack of dogs and cats, even if most of them seem to be of smaller sizes.
