This Week in the Forest! #50

WHEWWW! Ok what's goin on folks?

SO! Releasing a public build right before a con, not the SMARTEST move we've made lmao. But that con was much needed, so sometimes the mental rest takes priority |3

Regardless, time waits for no one, so here's what we've been up to this week!

Let's start off with a Word from Vixel!

11/1 weekly report:
Heya floofs! I spent the last couple weeks supporting the Act 2 release and making bugfixes, as well as taking a brief trip out of state.
Thanks everybody for bug reports! I have fixes for several issues with dates, fast travel, and one of the Gallery movies, and also added some skip codes for players who want to quickly bypass the plant or dustin minigames without using chapter select.
Reworked chapter select to allow chapters to stay unlocked once achieved, even when switching between (future) game versions. There's a few related bugs I'm still troubleshooting before we can publish this code.
Also added a script that makes a backup savegame and attempts to recover if there's a corrupted savegame - some players would load their save and the game would start them on the far side of the broken bridge in Central Forest with all earlier progress lost. I can't recreate the bug on my end, so hopefully the recovery script can avert it for those cases.

We weeeeere about to push a bug fix release for some of the common bugs on the public release - but we did end up coming across a few newer issues with those solutions, so we're gonna try to get those ironed out first.

On my side, I've actually been focusing on some pretty long-over-due commissions xD! We're talking 2019 BLFC >o>! I took some before we started really going ham with the game, (of course, with the disclaimer that the game was going to come first.) Long story short, I'm finally getting around to them. Y'all will see them posted here soon!

In the near future, I'll be prepping more Act 3 Content. Already got everything written except the last scene, but I gotta do the portraits, maybe make some more, and then start truckin' along with finishing animations!

I believe this month, we'll be doing a huge push on working on the New Project version for TFOL. It's POSSSIBLE this month we might not have a build of content, it just depends. Our main priority is to get a general fix/enhancements for the Public Build, then start migrating all the content to the new build. But that's gonna be a TON of work :O! The game is quite huge now, so it's gonna be a huge amount of work, and that's assuming we don't come across any new weird problems to fix xD Should be ok though, fingers crossed x)

But yeah! We'll keep y'all updated as the weeks ago by. 

OH SHIT, I have EYE SURGERY SHIT next week :O! I'll be going under the knife to get permanent contacts inserted. Pretty fuckin' stoked, I've been >Stupid Blind< my entire life, so the idea of easing the intensity of these glasses is a fuckin' god send. Very excited (and nervous) for that xD!
