Breaking Benjamin- So Cold

Breaking Benjamin- So Cold

First listen for me. Immediately sounded like 2010 POD! Different vocals. Liked it.

Would love to hear your reaction to "I See Red", a song by Everybody Loves an Outlaw from the 365 Days film soundtrack, 2020

One of my favorites. So underrated. Always blast this from my playlist. Hats off to the person who recommended this to you. I'd like to send you my playlist with them on it with other forgotten bands that were overshadowed by the bigger grunge bads but I don't know if you are receiving my other DM's.

Absolutely a must!

Amber! Amber! AM-BER! This reaction was so good, I had to watch it again! Proud of you that you picked up on the syncopation in the chorus! Very nice! I was so hoping you'd get around to getting into the heavier Nu Metal/Post Nu Metal side of Heavy Rock. Damnit-all, was it good to see you rock the fuck out to this like you did to Type O Negative's Love You to Death! Remember that part in that reaction where you said, "He's crazy, but for her, and if you mess with her, you're gonna die!"... whelp...Along the time I've been following Breaking Benjamin one of the many things about being in the scene is interpreting the song's video many interpretations from message boards, blogs, and music sites. From the Bible Verses from the apostles Matthew 18:6 (or similar in Gospels of Mark 9:42 and Luke 17:2), where Jesus warns that it would be better for someone who causes a little one to sin to have a millstone hung around their neck and be drowned in the sea to the punishments during the Salem Witch trials, all the way to the song being inspired by Nathaniel Hawthorne's Scarlet Letter. Fun fact: Ben Burley, band leader, founder, and primary song writer was asked what inspired this song during interviews. His reply, "...28 Days Later", about the isolation, the pain of losing someone, and the betrayal (at the mansion), and the rage when someone tries to kill you. What I love about this song is not only is it heavy as fuck, but the song is written in a 4/4 time signature and that syncopation in the chorus. Hell yes! Especially at last bar of the chorus with then drummer, Jeremy Hummel hits that baht, baht, baht, on the cymbals that just sets the tone for the clean tone guitars going back into the verses. Awh, and then you have then bassist, Mark Klepaski and then guitarist Aaron Fink are just nailing it. That's what we call, "...being in the pocket!" and finally...Ben's open tone style of singing along with his dirty vocals (screams) are one of the best set o' pipes in the business! This song is the type of 4/4 rhythm headbangers love! Amber, Rockstar, Metal Goddess, please dive deeper into their library, you won't be let down. Wild band facts not a lot of folks know about. Ben took a break in 2010 for a very long time (due to illness and other medical problems) and Breaking Benjamin due to internal conflicts, firings, and a resulting court dispute that prevented any quick reunion or activity under the Breaking Benjamin name. In 2015, they made a comeback. Tighter, louder, and strong in 2015 and have been active since the comeback! Now, if you want their post-2015 music, go with The Trilogy of 'Tourniquet', 'Torn in Two', and 'Red Cold River'. Would be cool if you did an extended watch. I can set it up on our Rumble Channel as "Amber's Triple Threat: Breaking Benjamin" if you'd like and you can react to it from there. It's three of the most powerful songs they've written. It tells the story of...ah, no spoilers. Amber, be ready for this trilogy. It's a fuckin zebra kick to the heart and soul. Song 1. Breaking Benjamin - Tourniquet https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLisufZwE74 Song 2. Breaking Benjamin - Torn in Two https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sn3Ct2_L4OA Song 3. Breaking Benjamin: Red Cold River https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kCbFmjEi6A Before I head off to get the fireplace ready if I lose power tonight here on Hill 30 in Virginia, if you get a chance to see Breaking Benjamin live, I can tell you this, you're not going to be let down. They're one of the best live bands on this rock and you know SGT Rock won't steer you wrong! Mad props for doing this, I've been waiting for this since you started your reaction channel, and this is why the guys and I here at Hill 30 are proud to support you. Seeing you rock the fuck out to this song, keep your horns held high and that volume knob cranked to 11! Be safe, stay blessed and we'll see you from our side of the screen on the next one. SGT Rock and the Veterans of Hill 30 PS-Here's Breaking Benjamin's Current Line Up so you can pick out who is playing what on this triple threat. Benjamin Burnley โ€“ lead vocals, rhythm guitar (founder and sole constant member since 1999, with the band reforming under his leadership in 2014) Jasen Rauch โ€“ lead guitar, programming (joined 2014) Keith Wallen โ€“ rhythm guitar, backing vocals (joined 2014) Aaron Bruch โ€“ bass, backing vocals (joined 2014) James Cassells โ€“ drums (touring/indefinite fill-in since August 2025; from Asking Alexandria) -EB
