Rengoku and Mitsuri did not have loved ones killed by demons. Rengokus Mom was sick, When she was gone his father fell into depression, it led to family drama. Mitsuri was living happy life, but still felt like she did not fit in with the norm, than she tried forcing herself to fit, she did not like it.
