Price Changes taking effect.

With the 1st of December I have closed the current stl-tier and merchant-tier, not accepting any new memberships. The current (soon to be former) STL-Tier was renamed into “early bird” – as long as you stay in this tier nothing will change for you. You will still receive the same benefits you did before. As soon as you leave, there is no way back in. *

New memberships are offered for an adjusted price only.

I know it is kind of a steep price increase, it does not come without additional benefits! I get often asked about how to catch up with previous releases: The new Tier therefore does include a re-issue of 2 types of tracks per month in addition to the new releases.

Fingers crossed: In case I manage to finish a build video, all parts I used are re-issued as well in what I call a "YouTube-Package" to all stl-level members...

Merchant-Tier members are given access to new files as soon as they are ready, this will be more relevant during 2023 because I switch to a pre-production schedule instead of just-in-time. For price changes the same true for future merchant tier members - there are more than 30 high-res single link workable tracks in the catalog as of now and more are added rapidly during Q1 and Q2 of 2023.

*(I know some long-term=12months+ supporters are resubscribing each month after getting thrown out by the system. If you find the door locked, contact me in this case, we find a more permanent solution.)

The reason for the price adaption is easy:

The past 2 years we** have upgraded massively and as a result the stuff we are able to create by the end of 2022 is far superior compared to 2 years ago.
December 2020: 3 Patrons; shitty 2k RGB printer; freeware; no tools, just toys.
December 2022: ~80 Patrons; 3D Laser Scanner; fully packed field-research bag; professional Autodesk CAD software + to spec workstation; 4k printers and last but least knowing all museums within reach inside and out: whom to ask and where to find what…
We have come a long way due to your support!

Therefore, on one side I want to give you long-term supporters the benefits of your investment and trust by keeping your membership rate where it is since the start for as long as possible. Equally important future Patrons can now enjoy to sit on the table without having to build one first.

On the other side, we have different base costs now than we had in December 2020. In 2022 this channel was not self-sustaining. Life in 2023 in general will be more expensive compared to 2022. Those who can afford to further push this channel towards long-term existence, can now do so. There are 2 income related goals for 2023: 550€ channel income is the current break-even point, allowing to replace equipment and use up kits, still without considering my time-investment. 850€ is the baseline for this channel to allow to diversify into allied and modern tanks and tracks still without my time investment considered but allowing research (books, museum trips, part purchase) outside of my own field of personal investment. And yes, increase in budget will increase the amount and/or complexity of parts I can make.
(Part of schedule clusterf*ck in 2022 was due to me misjudging time requirements and not knowing when to stop. But 2023 is going to be pre-produced this happening again to such an extend is very unlikely. I’m working off of started projects and stuff I never announced covering about 6 months of content + all missing types of German ww2 tracks to go with it for a baseline.)

**that’s you as a investing patron and me = the moron running this channel… (still not taking myself too serious : )

Thank you very much for your ongoing support!
With kind regards,
Kai.

PS: Comms are going back to the “what should be” from here: I will notify you once the November rollout is done and otherwise the next time in January with new preview and file release on and to schedule. Intending to keep overcommunication in check, while getting the relevant stuff out in one go. One more video is in the making.

Hi, new here, just starting out, I think I've managed to sneak in under the radar with the Merchant Tier. I was recommended your work by a friend and thought I'd take a punt without actually seeing what is available. I'm looking to start a NZ based aftermarket service. We are small band of friends with varying skills and equipment and we're looking forward to add your items to our catalogue, we don't have a site at present it's all done on word of mouth in a NZ Facebook group, so nothing big to start off.

Thank you very much, I'm glad you like the stuff I'm doing here.

Fully support the increase. If the stl files match the cad drawings then your skill set easily draws the additional costs. The quality of the drawings are high-level.
