2024-11-15 12:27:42 +0000 UTCWOW, I haven't heard the name morrisons cafeteria in ages. We used to have one here in ft myers back in the day, I remember going there as a little kid. Like an ala carte type dining place

2024-11-14 15:40:23 +0000 UTCYeah, I would think it would be nearly impossible to remain undiscovered for this long if she were still alive.

2024-11-13 22:10:40 +0000 UTCIt could have been an opportunistic, sexually driven crime. Maybe someone passing on the road. But who knows? What a mystery.

2024-11-13 01:26:05 +0000 UTCInteresting video! Your guests knew a lot of things, but I'm not entirely convinced of their abilities to sift all that information. There seems to be a lot of rumors, hearsay, second hand information etc. which muddies the waters more than clear things up. The sigarette story for instance seems to be a bit flimsy. I agree that the scent trails seem like the most intriguing piece of information. It seems like an awfully convoluted way of doing a voluntary disappearance, when there were probably easier ways of doing that. Could she have gotten lost and taken a wrong turn, and ended up going the wrong way when she was back on the trail? And then gotten in contact with someone parked on the overlook? Or maybe she fell into a hole somewhere that no one has found. Whatever happened, I would guess it was something improbable

2024-11-12 21:30:17 +0000 UTCThank you for this excellent video. The map and the way you showed where people were at different times was so well presented and helpful. As well as your commitment to reliable and thorough sources.

2024-11-12 14:53:09 +0000 UTCBeing exactly the same age as Treeny I can tell you this wasnβt a case of a sophisticated murder or kidnapping or a runaway. She seemed like a very innocent girl who took the wrong way and got lost. Teens will invent stories just to try to make sense of what happened and to try to clear themselves of any guilt. Rumors will run wild, thatβs how teens were in the 70s, there was no such thing as texting or social media. Rumors and gossip were all we had.

2024-11-11 18:01:09 +0000 UTCI doubt sheβs still alive but if she was she would have had children and grandchildren. I wonder if any of her relatives would submit DNA to an ancestry site and look for matches π

2024-11-11 16:00:34 +0000 UTCJust a thought about the ring π βmy finger size changes depending on the temperature. Sometimes, if Iβm hiking, Iβll take off my ring and put it in the small pocket on my right side. If Iβm not wearing something with a secure spot, Iβll give it to my husband to hold. A good question to ask is, did she have pockets? Could that be why she gave it to a friend to hold onto?

2024-11-11 15:37:28 +0000 UTCThat's very true. The 70s were a different time. You couldn't get away with this now. Trenny's parents did end up suing the school, the principal, and the teacher, Wayne Dunlap. But it looks like they eventually dropped the lawsuit.

2024-11-11 00:35:58 +0000 UTCThank you, Kyle. This is spectacular work. I doubt Trenny ran away. One reason only indirectly mentioned is, if she planned to run away, why was she allegedly playing "matchmaker" along the trail with her friends? It seems it is more likely the result of some sort of foul play. She could have been injured, but as you noted, it is very likely she would have been found; however, I realize it's possible to have fallen some place where it was a practical impossibility to ever find her. What is odd is how the school allowed a trip without permission slips. I mean, if the destination was supposedly a secret, how could parents give informed consent for their child to attend?

2024-11-11 00:32:23 +0000 UTCYeah, the coat thing would be very curious if it could be verified. So far, it seems like the only items that were found for certain are her ring and comb. No explanation on the comb, but there could be many. The stories of how the ring made it off her hand are... a bit fishy. This case is tough because most of what we have is a lot of rumors and gossip. I have a hard time discounting the scent trails in this case because the one that showed her going to the road was checked and verified by maybe 6 or more dog teams. The Appalachian Trail is so far away from where she should have been that it's odd they'd pick up anything in that area. And then with it ending exactly at a road like that. It's significant in my mind.
The Missing Enigma
2024-11-11 00:05:17 +0000 UTCI don't know if this has been suggested; but looking to the map, someone could leave the trail where Trenny was last seen and go straight towards the parking lot as a shortcut. Itβs clear she was in a hurry, perhaps because of the weather, perhaps because of an argument with a friend who came a little too close, perhaps both. I wonβt say that leaving the trail would be a good idea and in fact maybe it was one that did cost her her life, if there are dangerous rocks or old mining shafts (someone before spoke about abandoned mining equipment); maybe she had a glimpse of the parking spot between the trees and was lured in leaving the trail to cut short the remaining trip, then she got lost and / or fell. Iβm aware that this ignores the part about the scent trails picked up by the dog teams but if I have learnt something listening to your channel itβs that in cases like this, scent trails are often unreliable. Another detail which seems important to me is: Robert Simpson lent Tranny a coat and somehow, someone said, got it back (maybe with a bonus comb in its pocket). When Tranny took it off, if ever? Was she wearing it when she was last seen or perhaps gave him back (or dropped it), very likely if they had an argument?

2024-11-10 23:54:42 +0000 UTCThanks for the video. The two guests did know more than what was out there. But they through out a lot of speculation too.
