"connected" F: yarn over, insert the hook under two loop, yarn over and pull up a loop (you'll have 3 loops on your hook). Insert the hook from bottom up under the front loop of contrasting ch, yarn over again and pull through contrasting loop and 2 of the loops on the hook. Yarn over again, and pull through both loops on the hook.
"connected" B: Insert the hook top down under the back loop of contrasting ch, yarn over, insert the hook under two loop, yarn over and pull up a loop (you'll have 4 loops on your hook). Yarn over again, and pull through 3 loops. Yarn over, pull through both loops on the hook.
This method is especially convenient when crocheting the first rows and when you have large areas without interweaving 😊
