So If you're looking for a full project to improve your production and sound design, IGOR is the best choice. And in the mixing, it's not super clean commercial trap mixing; it's very characterful and has a DIY aesthetic to it, which means that you can be very flexible to make your own version, make a few changes, add new content, and so on. I highly recommend that you remake this album from scratch by yourself like me; it will improve your skills immensely.
And in these projects I have done, the synthesizers I just use are PIGMENTS and OP-XA. PIGMENTS is a polychrome synthesizer. It's versatile and highly programmable in sound design. You can use any similar synthesizer, like VITAL or Phase Plant, for substitutions. And OP-XA is a low-cpu-usage alternative for making simple sounds. You can use any subtractive synthesizer instead.
For the other sounds, all the orchestral or string sounds, I use Roland's SRX ORCHESTRA. And I think everybody should get a string machine like this. Even if you're looking for a real string sound in your work, it's very fast and effective in the early stages. And the rest of the instruments that you can replace with any realistic-sounding VST you have.
