The heart one is in the Murder Shack, and the unicorn has found a home on the bookshelves in my dining room. Thanks, Mel! They're lovely. I'm now on theme for this story.
I'm grateful to be back in the Murder Shack. It's not attached to the house--it's a shop space tacked on to the garage, and during the last week or so of extreme smoke adventures in the PNW, I couldn't use it. I couldn't really go outside, even. I have asthma, and the air quality level was so poor that I was getting headaches, nausea and dizzy spells, even though I was staying inside with our two air filters. Smalls has a hard time closing doors --like most children--and just kept letting more smoke into the house.
Yesterday the smoke lifted a lot and Man Friend took one of the air purifiers out to the Murder Shack and ran it so I could get some work done yesterday. It's hard to focus in the house during the best times and Smoke-Fest 2020 was not the best of times. But now the air is better and I have my space, so writing can get back on track.
I don't mean to complain--I had a lot of friends that had to evacuate their homes, and some of my in-laws lost their home to the fires a few years back in California. I know that having to stay inside and deal with minor health issues isn't the worst thing...but I'm glad it's done. Hope you're all doing okay out there.
