The Service Worker

I've been making lots of little resilience updates to Braytech. All sorts of stuff to prevent and mitigate issues. I've been doing this for two reasons;
- To reduce the number of errors experienced (lol)
- To prepare Braytech (production) for re-enabling its service worker
What's a service worker?
It's a guy employed by your web browser, who handles important business stuff out the back of the shop. She mostly does paper work... Accounting, important clients, stock, and stuff.
Why did it take so long to re-enable it?
It was enabled and it/I screwed everything up. So, I lived in fear of it for over a year.
What's it mean to users?
- Braytech loads faster after the initial load (near instant)
- Braytech can be "installed" as a "web app" to your phone or PC like any other app
Why today?
I was tired and depressed enough to forgo the immense fear for long enough to deploy it 😂
How are you feeling otherwise?
Oh, you know, swings and roundabouts... I've been a bit down about my apparent reach with Braytech and this morning I experienced a Google Analytics bug where it stated that Braytech had 1,500 concurrent users at the minute. So I was rapidly delighted and excited and wondered how... And upon investigation and some patience... It plummeted to its usual average. It was literally (figuratively) a rollercoaster.
In any case, thank you for your continued patronage during this internationally challenged time. It means everything. 🤙🏼
