This go-around we're talking about the king of boundary-pushing comedy, the guy who made that western comedy everyone says can't be made today, Mel Brooks! If you're a listener of our shows, this choice of director will probably seem extremely natural. He's an extremely influential writer whose brand of razor-sharp, cartoonish humor has helped shape not only our senses of humor but also that of many artists we respect!
Anyways, we decided to start with his directorial debut, The Producers, a film about two guys who decide to make the biggest flop possible so they can scam a bunch of little old ladies out of some money. It's a real hoot!
