The Weekly Transformation #0: Welcome, Patrons...

Welcome!

Thank you for giving money and support to this thing, that's just... the coolest thing ever. 

I'm just going to take this first, mini installment of The Weekly Transformation to explain just a bit more how I intend on doing things here, so here's a list!

I'm also going to make this post completely public so anyone looking at the page can see exactly what one of these newsletters will look like.

1. I'm charging monthly and not by each video upload

This one's really simple. I'm just not comfortable with charging y'all by each video upload I make because there's always going to be the chance that I make more than one video a month, especially with this topic. There's always the occasional toy scan or bit of news that's particularly interesting to me that'll cause me to want to make a short, off-the-cuff upload and I don't think those are deserving of your money soooo yeah there's that.

2. Explode When Defeated is the main series, and the one you're paying for

This one is also pretty simple! Despite being the name of the channel itself, Explode When Defeated is really just the main series presented on my channel. My channel can also be home to whatever other video essays I intend to do every month, and I intend to do other stuff at some point! Explode When Defeated is just the idea I have the most faith in and I am fairly certain that I will be able to release at least one new episode every month, so THAT video every month is the one you are all paying for, and the one you will all be credited on at the end. It's the main series, and will account for like 90% of my channel's output but I wanted to make this absolutely clear in case I do a video on something else and you all see that you're not credited or something.

3. I intend to make Explode When Defeated bigger!

Hence the patreon! Explode When Defeated is just one show but if we reach our $150 goal, I will launch the second leg of the show, a podcast on Godzilla that I will be hosting with my friend Wyatt (@WazpRanger on Twitter), it's something we'll be planning out until we get to that goal, but going off of the conversations we've had so far, it'll be a really great show and I'm so excited to implement it.

There can also be other plans for Explode When Defeated, like a weekly livestream of some kind that I've kinda had in the back of my head but never had the energy for, or maybe even stuff like toy reviews or a proper documentary of some kind! There's a lot of stuff we can do with this and I'd love to grow it with you all. I've expressed this sentiment in the video and the main page for the Patreon, but I wanted to get more specific about what I'm planning here with you all. 

4. This can all be subject to change, not too much though!

I decided to be extra humble with this campaign, just because I've never done anything like this before and I wanted to make sure I could handle it. I just want to be up front with that in the event that I need to scale things back or blow them up. These expectations are all just what I perceive of how this patreon should look like and if it actually proves more successful than I'm thinking? That calls for a trip back to the drawing board to reconsider my expectations and bring them back to you all! Same thing will happen if I need to go the other way if this doesn't work at all. I can maybe push up some of those goals, who knows! At this moment, I know I can manage a mainline Explode When Defeated every month and a writeup of some kind in this newsletter every month... which reminds me!
