Decklist: Toski, Bearer of Secrets

Hello Everyone,

This is an extra post to share my MTGArena Historic Brawl Toski, Bearer of Secrets deck. It is the only mono-green list I’ll ever touch and that’s because it’s a blue deck in a ghillie suit. Toski tells most interaction to fuck off and draws cards on combat damage, so the typical route for this commander is Voltron, but stomping all over people with a roided-up squirrel only lets me draw one extra card a turn which is frankly unacceptable. I instead prefer to play a bunch of low cost mana dorks and death touch creatures and swing out or nearly out every single combat, and then use spells like massive might, Gaea's gift, or for the family as Uno Reverses. The best part is that even if people catch on and don’t try to block when you have open mana, you get to draw 3-5 cards for it. I also put in multiple combat tricks that let you untap your creature like aim high, bull’s strength, and stony strength to get Toski back as a blocker after we over commit and swing out for card draw.

There are definitely upgrades to be made to this deck if you wanted to play it in 4 person commander, but as is on Arena it can be extremely funny and often allows you to feel like you have an active and flexible game plan without having to be a counterspell player. It struggles primarily in match-ups where the opponent is pillow forting with high toughness creatures or if the Arena shuffler decides that you’ve been having too much fun lately and doesn’t give you the right combat tricks/creatures early on. I will be updating this deck over time and making a gameplay video on it but I wanted to share the current version with you all now!
