So, it's not actually a coincidence that all of the credit card companies were located so close to one another. The movie takes place in a fictionalized version of Wilmington, Delaware. Delaware is notorious for its business friendly laws. You may have noticed that a ton of companies are incorporated in Delaware. And there was a Supreme Court case that allowed companies based in Delaware to export their interest rates to other states. So if a state like California caps their interest rates, it doesn't matter if the bank is located in Delaware. And that's why a ton of credit card companies are located in Delaware.

2025-09-19 03:54:30 +0000 UTCSpoiler Alert It becomes really obvious on the second watching but the twist is literally telegraphed in the opening scene when Ed Norton’s character says “I know this because…” It’s kind of amazing how many hints are sprinkled throughout the movie but most people (myself included) don’t pick up on it like Jax did, that was really impressive!
