Added 2025-08-21 00:10:31 +0000 UTCGet ready to go to the circus! I've never been to a circus so I'm not sure what one's attire is supposed to be. I decided to dress up with gold sparkles to add a little razzle-dazzle!
Despite receiving mixed reviews, I actually really enjoyed this film. I will say, the movie did not need to be that sad. I started crying four minutes in...FOUR!
However, it's the first live action Disney remake I've seen that genuinely tried to be it's own story other than Maleficent. Since I didn't know what was going to happen next, I was entertained the entire time.
There was also a bit of comedy to offset some of the sadness. I laughed, I cried, I did both at the same time somehow. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience!

2025-08-23 01:55:40 +0000 UTCI fully agree about the changes they made to the story. I appreciate that they tried to tell something different. I haven't been the biggest fan of Tim Burton in the last 20 or so years, but I enjoyed this a lot. I agree about the live action movies working best when they can hit the spirit of the animated films, but still tell their own story. I liked Jungle Book a lot for that reason. If you just do a 1:1 retelling of the same story, then why really bother making it?
