Arcane S1 E9 (Full Reaction)

That was a pretty epic season finale! I can’t even begin to express to you how relieved I am that season 2 is starting in just a couple of weeks!

The Monster You Created

Perilously close to war, the leaders of Piltover and Zaun reach an ultimatum; then, a fateful standoff changes both cities forever.

Holy mother of the Hulk! That cliffhanger was brutal!! Sorry for my extremely long, rambling wrap up. I had so many thoughts about these characters. Let me know what you thought about this incredible first season?

Watched on: Netflix / Runtime: 41:10

Silko's story is even more tragic after watching part of season 2.

Can you imagine having to wait 3 years to find out who survived the rocket attack? It sucked.

Such a great finale and show. So happy that season 2 is just a couple weeks away. I've been waiting since 2021 xD You should also definitely check out the behind the scenes videos they made for Arcane. It's called "Bridging the Rift", it's on the League of Legends youtube channel. It's 5 videos going into the making of Arcane, the writing, animation, voice acting, music. One of the most well produced behind the scenes ever made

Oh, I did want to say that I think it would be a lot of fun for you to do a video where you watch things like the Enemy official music video... maybe the Ekko "Seconds" video, and the teasers/trailers for season 2. I think that would make for a very nice cap to all of this.

I'll start with the lighter notes with this episode, and just say that if you don't want a very intense, personal connection to this episode, stop with this paragraph XD One of my main thoughts that has been with me since I first saw this episode is the feeling that I would never forgive them for getting Sting to sing that final song... he has way too perfect of a vocal style for it, and I both love and hate that they got him for that song. It is a song that always destroys me, deep down, and... if you keep reading, you'll see why. This is the episode where things get very heavy for me. Back at the end of 2022, my wife and I had been... going through a lot of conflict. I won't go into the reasons behind it, but I'll just say that the stressors of life were taking their toll, and neither of us were handling either the stressors... or the way the other was handling them very well. Things were said and done, and at the very end of 2022 was when things really came to a head. That was when we agreed to just... be roommates until her daughter graduated from High School. And... of course... my mind flashed back to Jinx's final line. "I used to think that you could love me the way you used to, even though I'm different. But you changed, too. Here's to the new us." It has never stopped resonating with that moment. The good news that I can offer is that in the years since then, I've been making a lot of progress moving past the stress and trauma leading up to that moment. Still. even with all of that, there's no going back. There is the new us. And, hell, it is an instance of where I lose when I play what could have been.

Only two seasons of Arcane, but they are essentially saying that they are going to continue past the end of Arcane Season 2 to tell more stories from around the world of Runeterra. So, we won't be focusing on Piltover and Zaun as much, and exploring more of the lore of the world.

When you really look at it... Silco is never shown lying in this show. Manipulating, yes, but he never really lies.

Michael Morris

I 100% believe Silco when he said that he would never turn Jinx over. Silco is a villain but he's never really dishonest.

It's masterful storytelling that by the end of the season they have you crying for Silco's death. One of the most interesting characters I've seen.

I'm excited and terrified for the second season. The bar has been set so incredibly high. It's hard to say how it'll go, especially with zero knowledge of the game, and I prefer it that way. I have my theories on how it'll start off and possible conflicts between characters (Caitlyn's mother dying at the hand of Vi's sister, for example) but this show has been pretty unpredictable thus far.

My only gripe with this show is we're only getting 2 seasons, but with fantastic shows like this i always want more and as someone whos played the game on and off over the years seeing these characters come to life is even more bittersweet, i was a Caitlyn main back in the day so she is a personal favorite of mine, my hope is they do another show with Caitlyn and Vi just going around hunting the worst criminals. Im sure its been suggested before but Edgerunners would be another great choice, its another fantastic animated show if you're looking for something with an equally compelling story to Arcane.

Throughout history, crows have been seen to occupy the remains of soldiers on a battlefield, and so many cultures view them as bringers of change, more specifically within the cycle of life and death. They are also known to be symbols of rebirth and transition. So a lot of people believe that they are meant to represent the death of Powder/birth of Jinx.

Minibeast

As long as we've known Silco, he's been hostile towards Vander. They were brothers, and what tore them apart was Vander giving up on the dream of Zaun for the safety of his children. When Silco is given the offer to fulfill the nation of Zaun in trade for Jinx, he finally understands. He understands where Vander is coming from, leading to the scene at the statue. The line "Is there anything so undoing as a daughter?" has so much meaning at that moment.

All Jinx wanted was to accept her for who she is now, not who she was in the past. Sitcom knew Vi was triggering Jinx and he was trying to get her to stop, that is why he was yelling at her to no listen to Vi. Being reminded of her demons was her biggest trigger to her mental issues.
