The Godfather Part II (Full Reaction)

Hello everyone!! Hope you are having an amazing Monday!❤️Here is my reaction to The Godfather Part II! This was such a wonderful film and it was great catching up with the Corleone family.

In this film, we get to see Michael taking on the role as head of the family while also getting a backstory to Vito's rise to power. I had no idea Vito was living in Hell's Kitchen! What a wonderful coincidence that Daredevil also takes place there.

This movie was just as great as the first film but I'm curious which one you like more? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!

there are versions with subs for the italian dialogues they are just rare, especially on streaming services for some reason.

Just a quick question, how are you able to understand the italian dialogues, there are no subtitles available

A good video about the oranges: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMioUoebu18

I have a recommendation, "Bugsy", about Bugsy Siegel, who brought large scale gambling to Las Vegas, and who I assume Moe Greene is based on.

The flashback scenes are fantastic. I love that they explored Vito's backstory!

Jacqueline

Haha! I didn't even realize I was doing it throughout the first movie!

I love the symbolism of the oranges. It was such a clever way to set up what was coming next.

Loved the reaction, thanks. This is a film that it took me a couple watches to fully wrap my head around. I liked what you said about how these characters being hard to root for. What always made this such an interesting tragedy for me is that Michael succeeds in all the ways we’re rooting against him (in his business) but fails in all the ways we’re rooting for him and is ultimately alone. Oranges in these movies have always been a prologue to death. When an orange appears, the character is about to kill or be killed.

For me it's a coin toss between the part 2 and the original; they both won best picture and nail it in their own way🤔 this was awesome👍 I love how you call Fredo Frodo🤣

Gabriel Urias

Looooooove this movie, I think more than the original--in large part due to Robert DeNiro and the very lively vibe to the flashback sequences. The scenes with Al Pacino in the 'modern' sequences are much more dour and dark; but, make a great juxtaposition for the rest of the movie. All that said...going to watch this on the weekend (she's %&$ing long).
