0.5 Development Update 49

Hey, folks!

Finally a proper-ish dev update. I’m more or less fully recovered now, the build is sorta-out, and we’re back to preparing stuff for the next update.

So the last build. Cait gets an eye exam (behind the closed doors), chooses a pair of frames, worries a little (a lot) and then finally gets a good look at the MC’s Earth.

She of course gets to show off her new purchase in the House, to Lyriel’s confusion and Rae’s amusement.

And there’s an advancement of yet another minor subplot in there since Beta featuring Angery Cait again

Following the last proper dev update poll the first batch of Wed Nips is now available in the phone gallery as bonus pics. There will be more, and there will be hints in there. I’m moving all bonus images to the new system where the items will be available at a certain time of day on a certain day of the week provided you completed a certain quest. The alternative options for the bonus image unlocks are a bit too unwieldy, so I’m focusing on the hidden item + time option.

Since the release schedule got really messed up due to my illness, I’m rushing the version through the stages a bit and .14 will be available in EA on Monday, before the next charge cycle.

And now a bit of news about the upcoming 0.6 version. The concepts for the initial batch of events for Blair are mostly finalised, the work on the environments continues, and we’ll begin on the actual scripts next week. I still don’t have much to show since most everything is half-done and unsightly, but come next dev update I hope I’ll be able to show off the mountain pass and the new locations in the house.

There are a few (probably two) polls for Blair coming as well. I was hoping to get them out last week, but again, my illness and then the scramble to finish the .14 update screwed up those plans. At the very least we need to decide on Blair’s in-house hairdo and clothing.

I’m still undecided about how much of the upcoming story stuff I want to tease/spoil, and for now I’ll be leaning on keeping most things under wraps, including the actual story of Blair’s arrival and her storyline, but I will have at least something for you next week.
