My friends, the vignette is almost ready. At this point, I just have to make some finishing touches, add a few more details, and paint the monkeys in the background. A baby monitor lizard is already chilling in the foreground. These animals come from Mantis Miniatures, but sadly, the set dedicated to Asia wasn't in stock, so I took the African one, and I'm just painting them as animals that live in Asia and the Pacific.
As for the rest, I did the obligatory enamel washes + drybrush on the ground with the same tones as on the tank. I was surprised that the fallen leaves near the road were easy to pick out with an airbrush!
Tree trunks received an enamel wash, then a bit of stippling with a sponge and Deck Tan, then another wash, and finally some selective touch-ups with a paintbrush. These specific palm trees have a very greyish, almost white bark. There's a very striking difference between the photo-etched leaves on the tall palms and the paper ones on the small one! It's simply caused by the medium used for the job.
Alright, now off to finish this thing, which is probably the most positive outcome of it all - finally having it off the workbench!
