These textures will never end!
Added 2022-05-30 11:43:53 +0000 UTCMy friends, work continues on adding more of the concrete-like texture. I started by brutalizing the hull and removing the plastic fenders. Then it was again about replicating the textures from reference photos, and each component has its own character!
JS-2 and 3 might be the roughest looking tanks I've ever seen, because just about everything is gnarly. Even the flame cuts on rolled steel plates. Even welds around the smallest fixtures. Just everything!
Also, I ordered a better set of PE from Aber. The Eduard details are not the greatest and the set is missing the toolbox which is a very prominent detail on this tank.
Right now I can proceed with using the remaining plastic details from the kit and assemble the running gear. I'll try to make the suspension movable for diorama purposes... and then it'll be about PE and resin stowage!
