Finished diorama

My friends, here are some shots of the finished scene. The water in the crater was a disaster! I had to redo the water four times! 🤣

First time it leaked through the tape. Remove the tape, wipe  it off, re-tape it, pour again. The next two times it spilled out of the crater... you'll see in the video. And the water was too green, so I made a new mixture, poured it again, and it spilled out again 🤣🤣

This time I went with it and masked the spilled part with dirt, sort of enlarging the edge of the shell hole. Not my greatest attempt compared to the Mark IV diorama, but it was an honest effort.

So yeah, the diorama is now resting above the Mark IV and below the Jagdpanther, and I started working on the next project!

Looks great man, that cross looks so cool up there.

I agree, for small areas I use woodland scenics realistic water. Great for puddles and that wet effect. So much easier than the hassle of resin for something small. I'll have to try that gel.

Martin: if I could make a suggestion… I've had great success with Golden Soft Gel for modeling small areas of water. It's easy to shape, tint, and apply. One needs to apply several layers to build up depth, but it dries so quickly that creating those layers is a non-issue.
