My friends, it's show time

Hope you're had a great weekend my friends! It was probably the last warm day of the year here on Saturday, but I did some work on Sunday and also, today.

So the JT is primed (Ammo one shot white primer), the lower parts are sprayed with MMP oxide red, as the real 331 had exposed primer where side skirts were, and also the entire lower hull was left in oxide color except the area right behind the wheels, which was brush-painted in factory before the running gear was assembled. This was common practice but usually they'd spray the remaining area later, however late in the war the production was kinda rushed, so everything that was hidden behind the side skirts was left in oxide color. Normally I'd paint it with a brush for that extra authenticity, but because you can't even brush MMP paints over each other (the oxide color started melting when I tried it - and yes, the dark yellow was diluted with tap water), I masked the area with masking putty and airbrushed the whole thing.

Then it was about masking the remaining parts with tape (I can already expect there will be some underspray) and airbrushing the whole vehicle in MMP dunkelgelb pale variant and white (40 drops of dunkelgelb, 10 drops of white and 15 drops of thinner). The actual color is slightly lighter than what you see on photos, but I kinda photographed the model against a light source so the cast shadow is making it a bit darker. These colors spray pretty okay for this type of paintjob, however, as mentioned in my previous post, I'll be painting the camo with Tamiya paints.

This is where the "fun" begins, and I'm crossing my fingers everything will go smoothly! Wish me luck! Hopefully I'll update you again in the evening with the green patches sprayed successfully!
