Mini-Artwork Tutorial

So, I was perusing ULMF the other day and came across a new developer. He posted his artwork and was quickly bashed--granted, the artwork does leave much to be desired. Anyways, he took the critiques extremely well and I thought I'd just do a quick drawing to show him ways to improve. Here is the tutorial image I posted for him:  http://i.imgur.com/V7QJ358.png

Anyways, I figured I would post it here. Perhaps someone is practicing drawing and it might help a bit. Plus, I thought the quick drawing turned out fairly nice, so you get to see some boobies!

Now, what is the most exciting is that drawing this took me about 60 minutes! That was one of the most awesome revelations I've had in awhile. I've been drawing so much, that I'm really starting to see the benefits. Now way could I have finished just this drawing in 60 minutes a year ago. It'd have taken more like 3 hours. Plus, the shading would be far less refined. I think it really shows how much I've improved. Plus, I'm even offering advice! Me, a lowly artist wannabe! All this is really quite exciting for me.

Well, that's all I got. Enjoy the boobies, and hope this makes you all as exciting as it does me. Really, my improvement as an artist only means good things for you guys. Plus, getting faster at drawing means even more CGs and graphics in the games. Can't see a downside :-)

P.S. One other awesome note about this. I received a ton of positive reps from ULMF users for this. I've heard some people complain about ULMF, but I really do love the community there. Sure, some people can be rude, but predominately, it is a great group of people. It really shows how much they care about the community in how appreciative they were to see someone helping another person out! Quite cool!

Awesome! Good to see you!

I actually draw in Flash (I know, probably the most terrible option out there). That's what happens when a person teaches themselves :-) I draw everything with mouse/keyboard. After this game, I may buy a pen and see who that goes. It should make sketching a helluvalot easier.

Heya, i'm here again Yummy :D It's great to hear that you like ulmf and that you help others, only can get better if good artists help others =) I'm mostly only lurking at ULMF tho ^^

Here's a question for you, how do you actually draw, do you do it in Gimp, or photoshop? Do you use a light pen or a mouse? How do you draw for computer images?

There's a funny typo there at the start of paragraph 3. "I hope this makes you all as exciting as it does me" I do feel as though I am better at exciting those close to me now...

Thanks!

Don't worry, I have some Easter eggs planned for those of you who've been here for the long haul. I have so many little sneaky things that I'll be very interested to see how much of it gets discovered.

YummyTiger Gaming

Absolutely! That's what I'm excited about. It's has been frustrating to draw so slowly, but I feel like I'm really picking up steam now. I'm also getting very locked into my own style, as you can see from my comments. I especially am happy with how the shading is ending up. The soft/hard brush combination is much better than my original attempts using only soft brushes. I credit some of that to Hunter's Quest and mimicking that author's drawings.

Oh yea, well past that damn stomach flu. Not sure what the guy is going for. In fact, I'm not 100% sure why I decided to spend an hour drawing his character. Something about how civil he remained in the face of quite harsh criticism. He has a ways to go as an artist, but I hope he keeps at it.

YummyTiger Gaming

You should have an Easter egg in your game with his character. It would be a cool thing for those of us that follow yours and his work.

Looks nice. The instructions seem clear and helpful, so that should be quite handy for the artist. As to doing the drawing within 60m, this is evidently due to the saying "practice makes perfect" :P Basically, due to gaining exp from working on a task repeatedly, you can do things faster at the same level of quality. I know a writer who can churn out multiple 1-2k word chapters in a day from this sort of thing.

i found you on ulmf and there very helpful with other games :)

Good picture yummy. Also ULMF is full of people. Full of it. Large. So on so forth. Also, feels like you've gotten over yonder food poisoning. Also is the person you are helping going for Realism hentaism or just straight up hentaism with "some-what" good proportions?
